mustafabey
A few weeks back, we were discussing on ebay finds, a guy who was sell KM triple tier ice hookah stems. I think there were a few who bid on them, I know i did. It has arrived, as have other parts ordered for it. It sure is a tall hookah. Modifications made to it were the addition of a lower charcoal tray, mostly to balance out the height, a nice vase I had laying around and a razan washable hose to which I added a custom carved ebony mouthpiece from Caravan imports on eBay
mustafabey
Hereis another hybrid hookah I've used for a while. Its some kind of egyptian stem, grand caravan hose and tacky glitter painted vase(soon to be replaced by frosted glass with blue palm trees) The Syrian crown was an afterthought and complements the glitter base
Hassouni
You've got quite a good collection of Middle Eastern artifacts there...if I remember correctly you're part Turkish?
Josh Hamilton
thanks for sharing. I too got the same KM ice stem...beware of the ice bucket > I realized that the soldering inside it is cracked ( at least for me ) so if you put ice in there the water will seep in the cracks then you have to dry it or shake it for it to come out the stem...im planning to put bathroom caulking soon...last thing youd want is water inside your stem. I like the fact that you put a skirt on ur egyptian...havent seen it done here

My hookah room, computer room and library are full of the stuff I've collected in my travels in the Middle East. Yes, the family is half native american and half Turcoslavic soup, including a very crazy(in a nice way) Bektashi uncle who gave me the guidance to get off booze and coke. I have a passion for rugs, mostly Central Asian, swords and jambiyas amongst other stuff.
NitetimeReign
Very nice setup Mustafabey. I too really like the skirt on the egyptian one. Been having my wife work on something like that for my blue pear, since she likes to do the beads and crafts stuff.

jeremyk
wow that thing is freaking tall more many inches is it?
mustafabey
about 43" from top to bottom. As far as Josh's concern, i doubt if i will use the ice container. I like smoke the way it is and don't use ice or wine or whatever in the vase, I am allergic to alcohol anyway.
Caila
I like the smoking room you have! Very cool.
Chreees
Very nice hookahs and very nice Middle Eastern-themed room! You have a lot of nice stuff. It's like you have your own hookah lounge in your home- a nice, chill smoking environment. I'm very jealous.
mustafabey
The room is an on going project. having been nomadic most of my life, I never acquired much, lived in small apts or the back of my truck or my tipi, so when i finally settled down i bought this old place which had 3 bedrooms(small its a farmhouse from 1900) So a smoking room was a must. i spend most of my in house time here and am an avid collector. I lived and traveled alot in Asia and developed a liking for things middle eastern. maybe 6 mos in the sahara fried my brain. I would really like to tile and stucco the walls. If you have ever seen any Moroccan architecture or the Alhambra you'll know what i mean. So if any of you wind up in the neighborhood of Oriskany Va, stop by have a smoke and dinner and play with the swords and guns
Hassouni
Oh man, the Alhambra is my dream house! Have you been to Beiteddine in Lebanon? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beiteddine_Palace

mustafabey
Looking for god, i guess. Do you know Cheb i sabbah, the algerian DJ? Mixes techo with berber music or on a more sacred level Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Pakistani Sufi Qawalli music. really great stuff, although my tastes run from classical oud, grateful dead, bluegrass and Northern Indian ragas. I noticed on your webpage you cook and live in wikipedia. So I am looking up Cheb i sabbah to get the spelling right and who do I run into but my old friend Hassan I Sabah,do you know him?
