You know how when you order sometimes the vendor throws in this or that and you just stick it in your stash and pretty much forget about it? Well, I was moving things around in my place and I come across this package of "Aluminum Chips". Basically precut foil circles. 100 of them in a thin package with Arabic writing on one side, and the other side has a hummingbird and the name "The Bird". So I think what the hell, it will save me tearing foil for the next 100 bowls, right? So when I open the package they feel kinda different, not quite like foil. Almost like a foiled paper if that makes any sense. Still think, what the hell, I use one for a bowl, and there's definitely something different about these over foil. Smoke volume increased dramatically and heat management was a dream. Almost as though they were the exact thickness and finish for the exact, most optimum heat transfer.

Anybody else heard of these things? Seem pretty cheap, I think a couple bucks if I recall when they came in and I checked on them. They worked so well, next time I order I just might pick up a few packs.

I got some from H-S a while back. I've used them, but I never noticed a dramatic difference.

I think it might have been HS but honestly I've had them so long that they could have come from any of the 3 vendors I generally use. HS, HC, and HJ, but I don't think they came from HJ because they're older than when I started ordering from him.

I've used them on Tang, AF and even Fusion all with better results than regular foil - changing nothing else. Heat management is such an environmental thing because it's influenced by humidity, etc., but they really worked wonders for me.

Yea people used to bash the pre cut foils but I have been using those for about a year now and love them! They do make heat management a dream!

I have a ton of precut foil. I just forget about them. I have gotten a lot from H-S. I typically just throw them in with trades and such, I am just in a routine of using reynolds.I keep a pack or two for when I travel, easy just to use that stuff. Nothing wrong with them. Just prefer Reynolds HD

there are some good pre cut foils. but most a pretty bad. i picked a pack up and they were so think i had to uses about 4 pieces to = my normal foil. i got some from Syria that had pre punched holes in them just 10 but they were very good.
