With Whom Do You Enjoy Smoking?

[font=verdana, geneva, lucida,]Since recently purchasing our hookah, my girlfriend and I have benefited greatly from the communal environment a hookah supports. Sitting out on the porch has attracted friends, neighbors, and passersby, and we've met many wonderful people from all over the world (we live in a pretty dense college neighborhood in Pittsburgh), and have shared everything from light-hearted stories to serious (and very civil and open-minded) discussions on life and religion and politics. Sharing the hose and enjoying a time for community has really opened the door to many enlightening conversations and cultural experiences.

Sometimes, however, it's nice to enjoy sitting alone, or with my girlfriend, listening to music, enjoying the weather, and smoking a custom blend of my favorite stuff.

I was just wondering what everyone's optimal smoking setting is, and why you enjoy it most.

Mine is definitely sitting with my girlfriend, mid-late afternoon, on the shady shelter our porch offers, the sun shining, the breeze blowing, putting on some chill music, packing a nice blend, with the other housemates coming and going periodically.

I smoke with my closests friends either at the hookah bar or their house just bsing or playing cards. I just came back from my bachelor's party and all my good friends were there, you really can't ask for more.

I smoked with a friend whom I haven't seen in years. She didn't like the flavor much (af lemon) but it wasn't her first time to hookah. So that was a waste. But I did have some friends come over couple weeks back and they liked it and it was fun to say the least (also not their first time). I like smoking and playing TF2. I feel like Im not smoking alone when I hear people talking around me even though it's all jibberjabber trash talk. If I do smoke alone it will be before I sleep. I just hate that I have to move and turn off the lights when I finish.

I think there are cafes in Roanoke and blacksburg, I am going to have to try. Mostly i smoke while I read or listen to music. Sometimes quite is good. Today we had massive much needed rain, so I smoked on the porch. saw some birds i hadn't seen here(not moving slow enough). It would be nice to know people around here that partake, but I doubt thats even a possiblity. Going into town(50 miles on way)plus shisha @12 a head is beyond my economic reach these days.

I don't like smoking alone once, I've always done it a handful of times. I prefer close friends, outside if possible, and with girls. All the girls I know LOVE hookah and don't own one, so it's a good way to get them back home! Also, nothing like having a girl over at a party (normal party) and having her go "Shisha? Please? Shiiishaa! Pleasepleaseplease!"


Also, not a big fan of people I don't much like (but may accompany a friend) hitting it, but strangers just introduced to me are OK

Usually I smoke with my best friend because he is most open to discuss religion and the universe and because he is always down to smoke and is never picky about the flavor. My brother, my girlfriend (who is way to picky about the flavor) and his girlfriend often join us and they are always a good time. I have a few other friends that I smoke with on occasion (one is the worst hose hog) that I wish were available to smoke more often.

Got a few close friends that I love to smoke with. Two of those are my old roommates and we always have great conversations when we smoke.

I usually smoke alone with a good read, but when I do smoke with someone, I prefer to smoke with my husband. I view it as a chance to sit down and relax, because we work so much and don't get to see each other as long as we'd like to. Add a couple of beers or alcoholic drinks and it's always a night to remember. We usually kick it on the porch, or under a shady tree in our front yard.

I like four scenarios.

1. By Myself. Dim the lights, light some candles, get a decent bottle of whiskey, and have a glass on the rocks while smoking.
Generally read, or browse the web - while listening to synthpop.

2. With my girlfriend. Talk about random shit and listen to music.

3. With all my friends. Talk about more random shit - where-ever the conversation goes. We are a diverse group of people, so talk goes everywhere. (I'm atheist, I have a friend who is becoming a youth pastor, One friend is Die-Hard Republican, and another is Democrat.) There are plenty of other opposites in my circle as well.

4. At a party, either hosting or bringing my QT to someones house and smoking it up. This only lasts and hour or so, once everyone is intoxicated we put it away cause we don't want to break it.

I enjoy smoking with people who see the world more as I do. I like to smoke outside, when it's cool (heat index was 106 today, so, hell no) or indoors otherwise. I smoke at the patio of my college, but if the frat boys ask for a hit the answer is usually a no, unless I know who they are. Like it when the ladies come say hi and sit in for a session.

Mostly good friends, or acquaintances who like to mellow out. Drunk ass sessions of hookah is amusing but not the best.

i some of my favorite times were sitting out on the porch of my fraternity house in the fall or mid spring when its still nice and cool with some of my brothers and smoking while other people were playing stickball or something and you could always just go join in. aside from that i have a few friends that i really like to smoke with, but i havent smoked with friends since february because most of them moved to the south of germany and ive been stuck up here alone.

since I am the only one of my friends that has a hookah it gets annoying having to set it up everyday for them to smoke, but I do enjoy smoking with 2-3 people or if not by myself with a nice drink before I go out.
