About To Order A Mya Mozza. Do I Need A Hose Adaptor?

I remember reading people saying I should... will my nammors not fit into the mozza without some sort of adaptor?

It should. If the mozza has the standard mya ports it should work. I use a nammor with my QT

Yes and No.

The Mozza comes with a Mini Hose adapter like you find on the Petite and Nou Nou

I would order a regular Mya Hose adapter to replace it with. That's what I did.

Nammor will fit in the mini, but it will fall out from time to time.

Mozza's are like the DeLorean of the hookah industry - they're eye catching and generated a lot of hype when they came out but turned out to be crap.

While you're at it, make sure you order one of those fat, squishy, white, rubber grommets so you can use a different, non-crap bowl. And while you're at that, pick up either a large Mya tray or a standard Egyptian tray to replace the silly decoration that comes with the Mozza.

Now that I think of it, unless you're simply looking for home decor, the Mozza is generally a bad choice for anyone who has any idea how a hookah is SUPPOSED to work.

I understand that the bowl it comes with sucks a large one. But I only plan on using my alien phunnel on it. I have a large tray from my hookah that broke. With those 2 replaced, I heard the mozza smokes like a champ. Have I heard wrong?

No you're right. I have a mozza as my 2nd hookah and with a phunnel, nammor, and standard mya hose adapter it smokes great. The smoke quality is right up there with my colssus.

Sure, it smokes good. Lots of hookahs smoke good. But it fails in so many other ways. It's just not practical.

In what ways does it fail? Besides the problems already addressed.

I had a beautiful aquarius tesmah and I really didn't like it. So I bought this instead

The bowl adapter is the same on all Mya's I use the same silicon one it came with for all my phunnels.

I didn't buy it for the bowl never did.

Tray... like purge, people sure put a lot of importance on those things.
1) Purge - Stop wasting smoke people.
2) Tray - You only need it to hold up a windcover.

Tray I personally don't use much. I have gotten more coal burns on the carpet going up and around a bowl from moving coals up and down. I just ash in my coal carrier straight across level with the bowl... no danger for burns or accidental drops. My tray just hold up my windcovers and ash if I am lazy.

Granted some people don't like the Mozza and that's fine. But I really like mine.

Maybe they changed the bowl adaptor at some point because the ones I got directly from Mya had smaller ones. We had to use a fat, mod grommet to affix a small Tangiers phunnel.


There are some people out there who don't purge. That's fine. But if you're going to put a purge valve on a hookah, make it work. Myas have always had a relatively crappy purge, and the Mozza is no exception.

The tray is a little different. Stuie, you're the first person I've ever met who doesn't use the ash-tray as an ash-tray, but most people probably do. Again, if you're going to put an ash-tray on a hookah, make it big enough to actually catch the ash and coals so they don't fall off and burn holes in your floor.

We got a bunch of Mozza's to sell right when they came out, and I always dug on how they looked. But we ended up sitting on our inventory for a while because word started getting around about some of these issues. Eventually, we started outfitting our Mozza's with a KM Tray, fat head grommet, phunnel bowl, and bigger hose adaptor. Of course they didn't look as slick, but they worked a hell of a lot better.

IMO, the Mozza is a perfect example of a "fashion over function" type piece.

I like the look of the mozza and like stuie I never ash in the tray but in the coal carrier and for the same reason.my tray is for windcover support only.
