Mustangfreak
I got my Small Mod hookah last night finally! I had to pick it up from UPS's warehouse because the driver would always show up after my apartment complex clsoses, and I work in the afternoon/evening. Anyhow, after work, 2 coworkers/friends came over and we smoked a little, everything worked fine, except I kept pulling in small bits of tobacco. My friend said something about getting a screen for my hose. This is the hookah I have, can someone point me in the right direction for screens that will work with it? http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-176-mini-tower-2-hose-hookah.html Thanks! Mustangfreak
Also, when I smoked with my friend using his hookah, I never got any tobacco bits through the hose, and he was using fantasia, while I was using romman, could that be the problem? ryno
Thats not tobacco going through your hose, thats rust. It's be impossible for the shisha to travel down into the base, through the water, through the AIR, and into your hose. I'd contact H-S about it and see if you can get replacements. ih303
I doubt what you were getting was tobacco. That site is blocked from the computer I'm on, but from what I see on google images, it looks like a knock-off Mya to me which might help explain some things. Tell me, are the particles you're getting fine, like powder, or chunky? Is there shisha (or anything else) floating in your base at the end of a session? Try this, take your hose with both ends in one hand and smack it against something hard several times. Next, position one end close to something dark and blow into the other. If you see powder coming out, the hose is rusted and needs to be replaced. It is rare to get a new hose that's rusted, but it does happen from time to time, especially when the hose has spent any time unwrapped in high humidity. Also, try inhaling through both the hookah and the hose SEPERATELY and see if you can isolate the problem. You must figure out exactly were the problem is before you start throwing parts at it. Mustangfreak
So, I contacted h-S.com and they said blow it out with compressed air. I did, and I could still see stuff stuck in the mouth pieces. A friend and I took the cleaning tool to it, and out came wood pieces! I was shocked a little. Anyhow, we used it last night and it went well, and after using 2 bowls, we swapped to his hookah due to the air restriction in mine. I didn't mind it so much, but when we went to his, it was 10X easier to pull from his compared to mine. So I may put mine on craigslist and get a single hose hookah.
It's not needing a single-hose. It's that you need a Mya, KM, AF, or another reputable-brand hookah. Stick with the brand-name hookahs and you'll be fine. In fact, before you buy another one, post it on here for feedback first.
rahl071
As all of these people have said. Don't get turned off to multi-hoses because your first experience was less than satisfactory. If you want a single-hose, KM's are great. If you want a multi-Mya is your friend.
agunn1231
listen and trust what everyone here is saying. They are probably the wisest hookah smokers out there, and they won't steer you in the wrong direction
joytron
I would be pissed if a company sent me a rusty hose and then told me to clean it out. Tell them to send you a new hose.
