delSol_si
My girlfriend and I went to six flags yesterday. Unfortunately, my heart couldn't take the rides anymore (damn high blood pressure, and I am only 24 and weigh 160 ) so we left at like 5pm and headed to downtown st.louis to take a few pictures and get a bite to eat. We went to a few different places, but finally decided on cecil whittakers (spelling?) which I had heard of but never been to. We walked around for a few minutes before getting the pizza and all the sudden, she goes "hey, isn't this a hookah lounge?" and sure enough, I look in the window and there are several hookahs sitting around. I was sooo excited, i couldn't believe my eyes, I have never seen an actual hookah lounge in real life! I went to to take a look. It was getting late and we had to get going, so I knew I couldn't actually sit and enjoy a bowl, (not to mention my gf doesn't smoke hookah and I would feel silly smoking by myself), so I just went in to get information. Right when I walked in, I was greeted very pleasantly. Unfortunately, the girl was either japanese or chinese i think...either way, I couldn't understand her very well. I asked what kind of shisha they had, and she pointed me to the menu on the wall (only listed flavors, not brand) so I think I will probably call them up before I go to make sure its a brand i will smoke. There were several good and bad things about this place. The hookahs, I could tell, were of decent quality, not top notch, but not bad either. Several had Magdy Zidan style hose ports with the china hat purge cap. A couple of them looked like knock off KM pears, so more than likely, some of them are probably Magdy Zidan, which isn't bad at all. I didn't see any KMs though It smelled really good in there, but there wasn't anyone smoking in there at the time. It was a dark place, had decent spot lighting. Nice looking bar, the decor was modern, but comfortable looking. Unfortunately, they use egyptian bowls. I could be worse, but it could be better, i think I have been too spoiled with my tangiers phunnel bowls. I plan to go back eventually when i get some time and can find another person to go with me that will smoke. I will probably bring my own hose. I am also considering bringing my own coals. I might call them up first and see what all they use though first...I'm also thinking about bringing my entire setup, including shisha and everything and leaving it in the car, and then if it really sucks, ask if I can bring my own stuff in. Only other bad part is taht its 12 bucks a bowl, which is pricey. She did end up giving me a to-go menu with their info and stuff on it, here it is: They have a good selection of beers, white wines, red wines, hot sake, cold sake-haiku, unfiltered-nigori, salads, appetizers, teas, noodles, crepes, gyros, and deserts. Hookah menu: double apple, banana, blueberry, grape, mango, rose, strawberry, mint, peach, watermelon. All flavors $11.96 for up to four people, free coal replacement, mix two flavors $1.00 It is called BBC Cafe&Bar Hookah Lounge 243 N Euclid St-L, Mo 63108 Has anyone every been to this one??? Any comments or suggestions???

Chreees
Awesome man. Some lounges will let you bring all your own stuff but will require you to use their bowls, tobacco, and coals. So basically you can only bring your hookah and hose. Idk, all lounges are different though. $12 per bowl isn't as bad as you think. The lounge nextdoor charges $21.95 per bowl of Starbuzz (Yuck). But overall the lounge you found sounds like a pretty good. Definitely try it out report back.
Fuzzy
I thought that 6 flags was going to be closing this year. I might have to check this place out soon too its only like a 40 minute drive from where I am in Wisconsin.
thatonethere
Awesome!!!! I'm from St. Louis, and I know exactly where that lounge is. I've never been because it's been a while since I've visited the old hometown. Btw, next time you should try Imo's Pizza. Ceicil Whittakers is good pizza, but it won't compare to Imos. I miss six flags over mid america . The next time I'm in town, I'll have to check out that lounge. Please keep us updated on what this lounge has. Edited July 20, 2010 by thatonethere

I would have to agree though, Imo's is better. I will post a review when i return to it Oh and yea, i am surprised Six Flags is still open, they kinda suck. I only went there twice in my life, but the wait time for rides was horrible, and I never spent any extra money on snacks and stuff like that. I can only compare it to the sad excuse of an amusement park they have out here (Lagoon), and Six Flags is way better.

The only ride we actually had to wait for was screaming eagle, and that was only because they decided to only run on car. The reason I say it sucks is they are trying to cut costs and a lot of the "cool" stuff they used to have is now gone. For example, on the batman ride, they used to have little speaker rocks with voices coming over them, which are gone. They used to have an old cop car slammed into a fake water hydrant with water rushing up, which I thought was the coolest thing ever, that is now gone. The tunnels you had to walk through used to be cooled down really cold, with a huge ass fake fan running and like green and red fake slime running through the fake drain from the fan with a speaker making a really loud swooshing sound, all of which is gone now. The tunnels used to have some really cool lighting and graffiti, which is all gone. It used to have a batman suite in a case that was all lit up cool like, and it was held up by a pole instead of legs, which the lighting covered up, but they got rid of the cool lighting. The floor below the rides seating declines before you go, and there was all kinds of cool lighting when it went down, most of which is gone, they left it all there, but when a light went out, they didn't bother replacing it. Oh, and they have gotten rid of almost all the picture taking stuff on the rides. I figured it was a temporary deal for when they were slow, but I peaked behind one of the places that housed the tv's and such, and all the equipment is gone. It looks to me like they have just gotten rid of all their extra little "cool" stuff that made you go "wow, thats really cool!" Kinda just got rid of the excitement factor of being there in my opinion, terrible business decision in my opinion.
