cloudmaster89
I set up my hookah. It's a tall hookah. I think it's Egyptian. I put on the funnel bowl. I used two pieces of thin foil. I put three quick light coals on the top only poking holes under the surface area of the coals. I have a nammor hookah hose. This is the same setup I used last week and I got huge clouds. I also have a heba diffuser on the downstem. When I go to take a drag there were barely any bubbles and almost no smoke at all. What am I doing wrong? How do I set it up right to get massive clouds? Thanks and happy hookah smoking, Greg
Dip_King
My guess is that the foil is getting suctioned to the hole in your funnel. You can make a scalli mod out of foil and put over the hole to stop that. Or just wrap your foil tighter so it doesnt dip down. IainUM
i always poke small holes right over the one giant hole on the phunnel. super tiny holes.
rhineholt
Make sure the diffuser is all the way in the water. Also, the diffuser will make it quieter. Check for an air leak. Before you put the bowl on, put your finger over the top and suck in through the hose port. If you get any air, there's an air leak and that can affect the smoke. Check your hose too. Put your finger over the other end and suck. If you get air, find the leak and fix it. Start with that..
ryno
Is it a Tangiers phunnel or a knockoff? The knockoffs center hole is higher than the Tanigers' ones and the foil tends to get stuck on them. Try using heavy duty foil. In my experience, the thin cheap stuff doesnt work well with phunnels.
fineout
dont put just holes where the coals are, i know some people do that but ive never seen the point, make circles all around and a small one in the middle, also pack the thing fairly high so that the shisha is definately above the phunnel itself
A13lackFish
yeah im thinking personally, you didnt pack enough shisha into the bowl, i usually go an inch or two over the top of the bowl. if its too close to the center hole the foil gets sucked flat down onto the hole and u get shit airflow. When you poke holes, never poke the center, do a circle roughly in the pattern of an 8 (outer) 6( middle) 4 inner type deal heading towards that inner circle. And 3 coals, unless they are dinky and your constantly monitoring them will fry the living fuck out of your shisha sir.
joytron
On a seperate note 3 quicklites is probably way too much heat.
RingsMaster
well to me it sounds like you need to add some more holes, everyone will tell you different ways to poke your holes and pack your bowls. heres what i would do and what i did when i started making phunnels, pack it light and fluffy, do 3 rings in the foil, 1 outside 1 middle and 1 inside, and do 1 hole in the center. this is how i started and then just messed with it and made it my own, but try a lot of different methods, pack tight, no holes over middle, more rings of holes, ect. make it your own and make it work for you. Toxik916
Poke more holes and lay off the heat.
