Mya Air Leak - Help?

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a brand new Mya hookah, fresh out of the factory. The stem, like most Myas, has the added holes for additional hoses, plugged with caps that screw in. The problem I'm having is that these caps aren't sealing the hole 100%. When the hookah is empty, I'll plug the top and inhale through the hose and the two caps leak - not terribly, but enough that it irritates the perfectionist in me.

It doesn't affect the smoke very much, if at all, just some leakage of smoke after draws, but I'd love suggestions as to how to fix this problem. Thanks.

Well in my mya those plugs have rubber O rings. Does your have these? if they're too small go to homedepot and buy some bigger ones. I'm gonna do that soon cause I found out some of these O rings aren't big enough to completely seal it.

The little black washers are definitely tiny, and I think that's the problem. I didn't know if anyone else had the same problem. Does anyone have a sure-fix for it?

On my Mya Vortex, when I purge a tiny little bit of smoke comes out of the screws covering the hose ports as well as the purge valve. Doesn't seem to affect the smoking at all, though.

If you end up doing what dizzbizz said and get bigger o-rings, let us know if it helps 'cause while I doubt it has an affect, it kind of irks me too. :girl_emo:

If it bothers you that much just get a couple autoseal ports to replace the caps and that should solve your problem. But may create an aestheics problem if you're that much of a perfectionist. :P

You might try a bit of teflon tape. You know, that thin white tape plumbers use. Just cut it down to size.

Teflon tape works great on my Mya gelato purge port. I have the same deal wiith the little gasket being too small to seal well. But Teflon on the threads worked great! On another note altogether, ih303, are you from rapid city?
