How Long Do You Think You Will Smoke Hookah?

Recommended Posts

So I was just wondering how long you guys (and gals) think you will be smoking hookah for. I know it's a hobby that has people who come and go, hence why we have a members list that is long but with many of them being inactive. Some people get busy with life, some lose interest, etc. Me personally, I would like to think I'll be an old grandpa, sitting on my front porch trying to get a peaceful session yelling at the damn kids playing on the street and also the loud hovercars driving by playing their insane music with hella-loud bass. But I know I'll probably quit much sooner than that. Probably when I have kids or something. I don't know. Anyway, I just thought this thread could be kind of fun for us to speculate as to how many years we'll be smoking 'til, or how old you think you'll be when you quit. Me, I'd like to get my own house with the gf, who would then be the wife, and have my attached AIR-CONDITIONED garage be my mancave where I'll smoke. Hopefully it'll work out that way. But, it wouldn't be the first time where she made me quit something I liked (car-modding- which she was right, I couldn't afford it).

Post your thoughts!

Hell Yea Man cave!!!!

personally I would say about the same situation.. when kids start popping out im prolly going to have to quit.Although I might have to quit sooner if that insane water pipe tax passes, just to much money for how much shisha hookahs go through

I totally forgot about how the pipe tobacco tax increase would probably make a LOT of people retire early...

And yes Jay, I will personally make sure you are buried in a nice tomb with your entire hookah collection, kinda like an Egyptian mummy tomb...

Probably when I get preggo (obviously I will stop smoking during the pregnancy) - and I think I'll be too busy after, and not wanting to be smoking around a baby obviously. It'll probably be an occasional thing at that point, or maybe only at lounges when the future hubby and I can get away for a bit :)

good good question. well, i have smoked a lot during the summer (since i am out of school), but during school probably wont even smoke too much, possibly not even a weekly thing. I haven't noticed any difference in lung capacity or anything like that, since i am both a musician and an athlete (i am a bassoon performance major and play ultimate frisbee at a competitive level with the university's team). if i ever notice the smoking impeding me on anything, i'd quit, but other than that i have no idea if i ever will

Who knows. It might be sooner than later. As long as hookah doesn't make me sick, I guess I'll continue.

I've been dealing with bronchitis for a long time now (damn co workers coming to work and spreading it around ). I haven't smoked in one month, and I won't until I'm all the way better. I think once I'm done with this hiatus and I'm completely well, I will definitely cut down the number of sessions per month. Until then, I'm doing research on different herbs so I could create the ultimate herbal shisha.

Hookah is a part of me now and its about time I accepted that and as far as taht quitting thing goes I never will, Tax or no tax... kids or no kids. Thats what the man cave is for I can escape 6 or 8 times a day to enjoy a bowl or ten.

There is very little chance I will ever quit. There will be times when I don't get a chance to smoke for a while or don't want to smoke for a while, maybe even months. But the only way I would say that I will never smoke again is if some serious health risks are discovered; and I mean serious. I doubt that will happen because you guys aren't dropping like flys yet.

My point is that not smoking and quitting are two different things. There may be a point in my life where I don't own a hookah don't smoke for a couple of years and don't even try to smoke, but if there happens to be a hookah at a party or I find myself at a lounge, I would probably be up for a bowl.

With all that being said, I hope to be working at home in a couple of years, smoking all day and take Stuie's place as the review king.

I tell myself I will cut down a lot after I get married next month and especially when I have kids. But I'll believe it when I do it haha

I dont smoke that often to begin with but when I have kids I hope by then to have a room just for smoking so when the kids are asleep ill just enter that room and smoke away. I feel like I may slow it down though when I do have kids. Its a part of my culture so it is something I want my kids to know about.

I plan on smoking my whole life. I'm like Chris, I want to be the hookah smoking grandpa on the front porch yelling at the kids. And yea, an AIR CONDITIONED garage would be nice.. to bad mine isn't lol
