Mya Mozza Bowl Setup?

I just got hold of a Mya Mozza, the problem is the deformed bowl with the stick going through the middle. The hookah comes with a metal screen that goes over the bowl but I don't like it as I can't get it smoking (I also tried a normal screen on another hookah and get the same problem).

I then tried putting foil on but due to the stick coming from the middle of the bowl its hard to get it air tight as the foil has a gap where the middle stick comes out from.

What can I do to fix this, is there a technique?

Using AF tobbaco and Swiftlite charcoals.

I would say get a new bowl.

Get a tang phunnel and call it a day, its a much better bowl...

Your supposed to be able to rotate the screen on on the bowl to make heat management easier, but it looks like a pain in the ass IMHO. Edited August 11, 2010 by rcracer_tx

Yep, the mozza bowl sucks a fat one. My advice would be to buy a cheap mod bowl from a local shop and use it while you wait on a small tang phunnel.

i never understood the concept either lol, like i guess it might be futuristic but for gods sake the thing through the middle is weird

Keep it off to the side as a decoration. And invest in a phunnel as above stated. To top it all off the Mozza bowl uses those silly screens.

That spindle thing coming out of the middle of the bowl is essentially a handle since that bowl has no neck. If that wasn't there, you'd burn the shit out of yourself if you tried to adjust or remove that bowl while it was still hot.

If you want to use the supplied screen, remember it's a lot thicker than foil so you're going to need more heat than usual.

If you use foil, don't worry about getting it to seal perfectly in the center. You're going to be poing holes in the top anyway so what's the harm in some gappage around the spindle?

We've done plenty of Mozza conversions at my lounge and have it pretty much nailed down.

ACtually I have used is successfully with Nakhla and Tangiers. I don't have it anymore, but odds are you don't have enough tobacco and swiftlites... loose them.

You can use any other bowl you want with them. I put a phunnel on mine all the time.

The thing that bothered me the most was that the scree was galvanized. I don't like smoking zinc.

The Mya Mozza's bowl was a good concept, but just didn't work...

Regular bowl or Tangiers phunnel ftw.

Hrm..I'd say pack the crap out of it, then foil over that rod (so its punched in the middle), then add some more holes via toothpick.
