Recommended Posts

ok so last night my bowl breaks on my outta no where when i wasnt touching it, and today

for some reason the end of the hose will not fit into the Port of the stem its supposed to fit into with that little rubber thing i got with it, ive tried jamming it in and about bent the hose part

its almost like the hose and rubber thing are almost too big all the sudden, i cant get it to stay in there -_-, it worked perfectly yesterday and this morning

Ditch the rubber grommet and wrap the end of the hose with a damp paper towel.

HA! What'd I tell you in Chat? I'm telling ya man, the damp strip of paper towel is really the best solution. I just got a gasket from my local shop but I'm honestly thinking about going back to paper towel like I used to use all the time.

nothing wrong with paper towels. i used them for some bowls that didn't fit perfectly with the grommets

I have had that issue. This is the way to beat it. I have all all kinds of bowls I use. If you leave the grommet in the base of it when you go to put it on, the grommet will move up the base more and more. So when you push down to get that seal you are usually in the thinnest part of the bowl. Take the grommet off and put it on the tip of the stem without the bowl. Then put the bowl on, you will find that you have a fit much further down the base of the bowl.

...you mean a completely different one? :D

but to go along what everyone says, the damp paper towel is the way to go. i don't even use the hose gaskets anymore. and for alien phunnels and other oddly shaped head openings i'll use the paper towel trick as well.
