Mikefu
Yes, corrosion meaning rust. Only iron rusts, so other metals oxidize differently, that's why I referred to it as corrosion. But anyway, id try to use the product above, clr, to remove it all along with a wire or stiff nylon brush. Be sure to rinse it extremely well after cleaning It should only recur if you don't wash the hookah well after use, assuming there is no internal rust. Venger
It all oxidation, for iron its rust, for aluminum it a whitish powder, for copper it the green stuff and for silver its tarnish. Oxygen mixes with just about everything. CLR should help clean most of it with a little scrubbing. Molds and mildew don't usually grow very well on metal. unscrew everything that will unscrew. soak it in CLR for a while then scrub. I have resurrected cast iron pans that well covered in rust , unless it is rusted through you should be cool.don't be afraid to be rough it metal and hard to hurt. Really your only concern should be aesthetics like scratching your finish and even that is fixable. Ray

As far as i know, the rule goes: if u cant eat or drink it , u dont wanna smoke it!

[/quote] 1) you can find CLR in most grocery stores and hardware stores. 2) you don't eat dish soap but you clean your dishes with it then eat off them. The key here is rinse thoroughly. You could rinse it and let it soak in clean water over night and rinse again. Just make sure when your done to dry it very well.keeping it dry during its down time will help it stay rust and corrosion free. Ray
