Public Hookah Sesh?

My friends and I are freqently bothered by people about our hookah even when we smoke in a relatively secluded space, I.E Far ends of baseball fields and empty parks, I was simply wondering if this is a common thing among other hookah smokers or if its simply the people in my area,

i think it is alright. the way i look at it is that it is acceptable to smoke cigars and cigarettes in public. the thing that makes it questionable is that it isn't a small lit stick, but a bigger water-pipe. i'm sure a lot of people associate hookah with NHT just because they don't know or understand

The funny thing is that people who smokes cigs or hookah hate the people who smokes cigars, atleast the majority of people in my area. They can't stand the cigar smell, but I smoke both hookah and cigars.

Anyways to the uneducated when they see people smoke from a hookah, they immediately think it has NHT (Non-Hookah Tobacco) in it.

Haha, the poll results are totally awesome. Then again, as stated before, you're going to get a site-wide bias on it. It's not illegal, unless of course there's a no smoking sign. If someone asked me to stop, or they complained. I would nicely say no. But if they didn't stop I'd probably get irritated and use some harsh words. That's just me. Or I'd have them sit down and explain the concept of hookah to them and, with a successful explanation, have them try it with me. Depending on my mood.

I am bothered when people I dont know smoke cigarettes around me and have kindly asked them to leave at the bus stop when i used to take the bus. I feel the same way about hookah, if my smoking in a public place infringes on your rights and you are bothered by it I would gladly leave.

to me seems like people like hookah only like hookah.. several of my friends that smoke cigarettes will only take one puff from waterpipe and stop...they told me its not real smoking, has wierd flavors no real burn to it and take for ever so setup. Personally i like hookah and cigars as well, no cigs at all.

To the original post i believe that their is a good place,acceptable place to smoke anything.. if its legal to smoke their then puff away.Some places just arent right to smoke anything at all..at least i don't think so.

Once in a while me and 2 of my friends would find an empty parking lot somewhere and i would make the hookah. Cops have hassled me a couple of times thinking it was for NHT but nothing too bad.

I think smoking indoors in a public place is a bad idea. I'm completely fine with them banning that.
Except hookah bars, of course. People won't go into a hookah bar if smoke bothers them.

However, outside, I think it's perfectly acceptable, if you aren't in a crowded area (for instance, somebody mentioned a bus stop). If you're in the open air, where there aren't a lot of people around, it's not a big deal. People get freaked out and think that they're going to get cancer from breathing in a tiny bit of second hand smoke, and it's ridiculous.

Anyways i think its perfectly acceptable, its a legal substance.
At home, down here in Washington D.C i smoke my hookah once in a while outside of the local starbux at the tables while drinking my tea and hanging with friends (this is a 48" KM Exotica, not really a hidden object lol) Sure people give me weird looks but alot of the time randoms will come over take a couple hits chat, and its always a nice social activity.

At school i smoke it out on the quad, fineout as well as myself do this. And cops or other people will look once in a while, but again its all legal

So "Hell Yea Man" i think its fine!

if its bothering people i think you should be respectful and move but other then that i guess puff away...i never really tried it cause i think people would think im doing something illegal
