My future mother in law wants to give me a wedding gift, she said i can choose between a nice watch or a big screen TV. I think the answer is pretty obvious, cough cough tv cough cough. Just want to know what you guys think?

I really dont wear watches unless its a special occasion but I never had a nice one. I can get a nice Breitling, Rolex, Tag Heur etc.... It would be nice just to own one but I dont think I would use it as much.

I already have a 55" DLP TV 720p in my room, I dont watch as much TV as I use to or play video games. Then again my family will be able to enjoy it as well.

Suggestions?

TV, hands down. Then go out and buy yourself a nice Fossil for ~$70. I've had my retro-style Fossil for over four years now, wear it everyday, and love it. 11 year warranty covers everything. If I had an expensive Rolex or something, I'd never wear it for fear of damaging it.

Wow this one has me stumped cause I would take a Rolex in a heartbeat. But the big screens are very sweet as well. If you do go with the TV try for 1080p I think it makes a difference and yeah I have owned both 720 and 1080. Also if it's the TV, if you get to pick, get one with a 120 or higher hz refresh rate, nicer once again. But then I jump back to pretty much everyone has a big screen since they came down in price so much. The same can't be said about a Rolex however, at least not a real one that isn't a knock off.. WOW glad I'm not you on this decision CP...lol

It only makes a difference if the TV is over 32" big. I have a 32" 720p and it's great. I got it mainly to play PS3 in HD, and it looks amazing... plus there aren't that many games made in 1080p yet. You can only tell a difference in resolution on the bigger screen TVs... that's when you want the 1080p.

personally I'd take the TV... unless you just like watches. a few of my boys are into watches, getting breitlings and rolexes and shit.. but i destroy watches so for me theres no point having a 3-5k watch that i will wear only on special occasions..

Guess I have gotten a Lil spoiled with my TVs Chris..lol When someone says big screen my mind automatically jumps to atleast 47" or bigger. And you don't have many games in 1080p cause you own a paystation..lol J/k I owned 3 before..lol The blue ray if it be stand alone ps3 or whatever is almost all in 1080p now so it makes those very nice to watch. :)
