First experience and sum reviews

First off, this is the SECOND time ive posted this, i tried to last nite, but the stupid forum software ate it. so hopefully the big guy will be on my side.
Well, if u didn't read the seroius discussion forum, up until last nite, i was a total smoke virgin, never smoked cigarettes, cigars, any drugs, not even a hookah until last night. 3 of my freinds (dobb, mike, mis) to me to a shisha bar in huddersfield (uk) called arya. It's a persian restaurant with a cafe/bar thingy upstairs. dobb knows the owner very very well (as he goes there like 4 times a week.)
We went in there and the owner came down and greeted us and we all had a good chat. We then went upstairs and there were 2 girls already up there with a hookah. dobb asked if they would join us, so we shuffled over to them. For the first time ever, i tried a hookah. it was 40 fruits. it was good shizniz! between the 6 of us (me and my mates, and the 2 girls) we ordered another 3 hookah's and about 5 different heads. That nite, i tried:caramalcaramel & grapemintappleapple & mint40 fruitsThey were all good, some better than others. personally i loved the mint, it wasnt a minty taste, but a minty sensation, really hard to describe. the caramel one was really caramelly, almost sickly caramelly. We also got some food (which was gorgeous) and quite a lot of beer. First i was on carlsberg, and then some persian stuff (dont know the name, but it was nice also.)
The second time the owner brought us a second hookah, i think he must slipped something in it, because i took one big hit and nearly fell off my chair! seriously! it went straight to my hed, light headed, dizzy, happy....after one puff (of a new hookah, we'd got through 1 or 2 already) but that might have been brought on a bit by the beer aswell.
So yeah, it was awesome. beer, food, friends, random 2 girls. it was cool. We asked if we could watch the match there (semi finals) and the owner pointed out that the TV was downstairs, but because it was Dobb, he brought the TV and a projector upstairs!!!
We also tried something else too, im not sure what it was, but it was like a full metal hookah which you held (it had a rounded base,) with a bamboo pipe coming off it like a hose. The draw was soooo much easier and better. it was a lot better.
So anyways, awesome night it was, and will definately be going again. all together, it came to just short of £80 (about $150) but we were there ages and got a lot of stuff.

With the experience you got, especially for your first time smoking,
I'd say the money was well spent. It also sounds like that lounger
owner knows how to take care of his regulars, so more power/business to
that gent

As for that little somthing you felt after the second hookah, it was
probably due to the fact that your body has never really been exposed
to nicotine, and then all of a sudden you're jamming it down your
throat. I'm guessing you got pretty light-headed as well? All of these
things are pretty common with peoples first sessions. Consider yourself
lucky you didn't get sick like a lot of people experience, especially
with the amount you smoked

Well I'm glad to hear your first session was a success. Might I suggest
getting yourself a machine of your own. After a couple uses out of it,
it will have payed for itself. No doubt its a fun time going to the
lounge (especially the one you described) but with the kind of money
you dropped at the lounge, you could get a real nice hookah, build your
own chill smoking environment at home, and call some girls over for
free

I dont think anyone could top their own "FIRST TIME"! I just dont know what it is but I can never get that feeling again.

Wooo, last nite was my second time.
it was awesome. first time i did it, only the people i went to arya with knew about it, and i didnt want to tell anyone else, through fear of bein called a hipocritte and loosing respect. But last nite, there was a house party, dob brought his hookah along. and much to my delight, my ex-girlfriend came up and smoked with us. it was incredible. We can also confirm that alcohol in the base does get into the blood. I got to the stage where i ws just on my bak asking people to put the hose in my mouth because i couldn't move because i was so drunk/shishafied. Another enjoyable night. We had soex mixed fruit, al basha mint and al basha caramel. The mint is by far the nicest. it was a good experience apart from really bad hangover and several bruises etc. Also, arguing with other friends about hookah smoking. i managed to beat them by sayin "dont quote me on this, but im quite sure the ammount of alcohol you've consumed (its was a house party, so everyone was really drunk) will prolly do more harm than the 45 minutes or so i spent on the hookah - at least what im doing is legal at my age!"
I've not got my ex girlfriend into hookah smoking, i feel a bit guilty because i feel im responsible, but she loves it. we're off to the shisha bar on monday i think. should be fun.

I'm guessing he is refering to one of those small hookah "hand-pipes".
And its made of all metal, and has a narrow shaft for a hose. In my
experience with these small hand-held pipes, they smoked nowhere near
the caliber of my big boys.

alquoshnia: it was a lot bigger than that, it was like a full size brass hookah (i'm guessing it was about 20 inches) with a curved base (so it wouldn't stand)
yashman: i can guaruntee it wasnt what you were talking about! it smoked awesome. it was just like breathing (shisha smoke) naturally, ;like not through a tube, it was so easy to smoke.
catalyst: well im off to arya again at some point during this week, so i will do the reviews when i get back.

I actually think I saw one of those things on a website somewhere....I
pretty much chalked it up to a gimmick sort of thing and never looked
at it again. Now that I hear how well they smoke I'm irritated that I
can't think where I saw it. DAMN MY STUPIDITY! OH WOE!
