noodle
I've been looking at getting a regular-sized hookah for some time now. Generally I want something made of stainless steel. Hookah-Shisha.com seems to have nice ones. Another feature I want is to be able to unscrew the stem and thus store it in a smaller space. The only ones I'm aware of that are like this are ones by Sahara, but they're made of chromed brass. What else should I be looking at?
Chreees
Mya. A lot of their tall and medium sized stems you can break down into smaller sections. As to which models do, I'm not sure, so I'll leave that for the Mya experts... Also, in my opinion, Mya is a LOT better in quality over Sahara... noodle
Most of the places I've seen that sell Myas that also mention what the shaft is made of say it's made of stainless steel. However, at least with my QT, the shaft is not stainless steel at all, but instead cast brass. When I got mine, I had a nasty time trying to explain the difference between brass and steel to whoever answered the phone. I'd rather not have that aggravation again. Also, is it just me or have larger Myas recently jumped quite a bit in price?
Patrick
I'm a big fan of MYA's acrylic hookah, its a very stable design, not too tall, and the stem is really solid. They can be broken down so you can store it in a small space, and the pipe in the base is stainless, the rest is chrome. Something that really bugs me is the idea of a sandcast brass stem that's essensially a brass balloon with all sorts of rough spots inside. Patrick
Yeah, the rough spots bug me too, especially if I don't clean it right after! But as long as you at least rinse everything out after you use it, there's no problems with that hoookah.
Chreees
Myas have brass hearts, but the other components to them are stainless steel... They're durable, and will last for years, as long as you steer clear of the Econo ones.
Chaz1337
You will NOT find a more durable, higher quality or better made hookah than a MYA. Granted the middle eastern pipes are very high quality and beautifully made but they dont have the same cut and paste durability that a MYA pipe would. Chreees
They're Khalil Mamoon knock-offs... People who have them say they're good, but for that price, you might as well get the name.
