that base is identical to my "elephant" base on my km chiller...(im guessing 1.75" approx)
Also there are bases that KM can use but they range in the 2" diameter...it will boil down to how you MOD your grommet fit (tape)
regardless of style...HJ should have it (same base like that...but has a green stains) and could ship them to you...you could PM him I guess for details

I did email him but the reply wasnt very helpfull supprisingly seeing as every 1 swears by him... and havt had a reply to a second in a week and a half. And i would think id need to make the gromet smaller not bigger? None of the bases that are online seem to be to small the opening not big enough thats my dilemma. And yes i lost a alien phunell in the fall :(

oh jeez..... that really sucks. are you measurng just the inside of the opening or the whole thing? just checking to make sure, cause that could be the problem if all of them you see online are too small

You might have had a jumbo base, with a 1 7/8 to 2" opening. These are usually 12" high. I have one on my KM ice, which is tall and it keeps it very steady. When you go base shopping, look for some measurements. Some vendors don't give them which is frustrating. Some use a grommet size to measure the ID of the opening. Yours would probably be 30

I was just about to post about grommet size, how do u work out what size it is? And yeah they usualy say there around 3.7cm my base opening is about 4.5 cm like i said b4 but they say they fit size 30 gasket so mayb it would fit i hate when theres not enough info

OK 4.5 cm converts to 1.77 inches which is more like a 29 size grommet. You can always use electrical tape and one of the vendors makes a thick band that increases your grommet size. My second guess would be a standard base between 9 to 11 inches tall and with a 1 3/4' opening. That size is fairly standard. remember tto, if buying an Egyptian vase, that its hand made and subject to variation

Remember too, if buying an Egyptian vase, that their quality standards SUCK and the damn thing will prob start falling apart (paint peeling, breaking on its own, etc) in moments.

I've had THREE dud Egyptian vases, and one lovely Lebanese that lasted me years and years and years until a drunk idiot had his way with it

So smaller the number for the grommet/gasket means its bigger? How do u work it out so o can measure mine properly . Coz im from aus and dont want to order one and then find out its wrong. Its going to cost me enough for a whole new hookah lol

I dont much about this grommet thing other than 29 is smaller than 30. I guess theres a scale like wire gauges and I'm rather sure one of the experts here knows the scoop.

just buy a vase that is 12" high, it should fit fine with a little work. I have two KMs and three vases and all the vases fit on all the pipes. I even had a generic egyptian and one of the vases from the km fit fine.

There are times i drool over the Qajar vases on eBay. Cobalt blue glass with a portrait of some 19th cent Qajar Shahenshah. They go between 200-700 bucks, far far above my meager budget, but they are gorgeous.

i had a look around the only basses that will fit to my measurements are the "large bases" from hookah-shisha (http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1027-egyptian-replacement-hookah-bases.html).. the other still are to small, my stem just fit into my original base and was super tight so the others still wont fit from hj? i still think somethings not right here lol

That particular one has been around for months, though cheaper ones sell. I think its more for collectors than actual users, judging from the amount of Qajar glass and Mughal metal vase I see for sale, nothing lower than 2-3 hundred though

that'll do it. try emailing him maybe, to check which number is accurate, just to be safe.

on a separate note, have you tried finding any bases locally?
