Metal Bowl Screen For Phunnels

Hello.

I've taken a liking to using a metal screen instead of tinfoil lately. It requires a little bit more coal but it makes the setting up process a whole lot quick easier, less tedious and less fiddly.

However, i only have a screen for my normal small ceramic bowl. It it possible to get these screens for phunnel bowls?

It depends on the size of your phunnel. I find most of those wind screens will fit a small phunnel bowl.

but i don't think it would work like it should, since there will still be too much ventilation for the one big hole to suck the smoke in

Yer, it's a shame they dont make them with phunnels. I find getting the foil all neat, tidy and evenly holed is even more tedious with a phunnel.

Maybe a metal screen that just had holes punched round the outside, with the center solid so air had to come in over the shisha, and not just go straight down the middle.

I'm certain this has been discussed before but how many people use metal screen vs foil?

Foil works much better but screens eliminate/reduce aluminum exposure.

Takes a little more effort but foil gives a much better smoke in my opinion. If getting the hole pattern is the issue try putting 5 holes in the very center and just leave it at that.

Its really not that much work. I can foil and hole a phunnel bowl in less than 30 seconds.

Putting a little more effort into setting up the session is worth the benefits to me. I've never had good luck with those screens, and havent used one in years. Don't plan on it either.

Mike had made some at one point, but im so out of tocuh I don't even know if he still visits here or even smokes xD But as a normal product, nope no luck for ya there.

As for air flow, done properly it would work just as well as foil

two apples came up with a foil technique that I have been using and it works great. Foil the bowl and poke a bunch (5-10) holes in the middle over the center hole.that's it.
takes the heat like a champ and no ash.
