Four Hoses for Four Hosers!

Recommended Posts

Before you tell me to search for topics of the same nature, you can sit on it!! Why? Because I've already searched the forums and it does not seem to be incredibly helpful. I am sure this question has been asked a thousand times, but bear with me as I ask it for the thousand and first time.I am heavily considering getting a four hose hookah set up. What do you have personal experience with, if any, with four hose hookahs? A group of guys and myself are wanting to smoke one on about a weekly session where we all get together. Do you think we all will be better off with gettin our own individual hookahs? I will not rule this out as a possibility! It does seem to take away from the comradery of the situation though. So, if you have any nice suggestions, by all means share them.Thank you!

First hookah I had was a three hose... I instantly upgraded to a four hose... best investment I have made for my hookah. The only time I really smoke is with my friends and we have around 6 people at the minimum, so i think it is a must. When I smoke by myself, I just plug the three other openings, still hits great.

my first hookah was a 4 hose, the pharaoh 4 hose from hookah-shisha.com and i absolutely love it, i especially like that it come with the option of getting the genie style glass bass, which i think is a cool look for a hookah

I can't comment on a 4-hose, but I have 3-hose (Taqseem Spider) and it makes it nice when 3+ people are smoking.  You might find it a bit large to smoke by yourself, but it just gives you an excuse for a single hose purchase (possibly a QT?). :-)

I personally prefer the single hose variety. To me the problem with a
multi-hose is the intimacy factor. Everyone is busy puffing on their
hookah, worrying about who is going to get to puff next. Even if you
have an auto-seal system, the person who pulls the hardest on the hose
will get all the smoke, while everyone else will just get a headache
from sucking so hard.

So even with a multi-hose, autoseal or not, I find it really kills the
converstaion. This is just with my experience though. I guess if you
have a 4 hose with more than 4 people, there will be some people who
won't have a hose, so there will be some converstaion, but meh..

My recomendation would be to get 2x single hose hooakhs. Two hookahs
will make sure that a mid-size group gets its fill. You won't be
waiting all that long for a hose to reach you. 1x single hose won't do
it for a mid-large though. Every single person will worry about never
getting to smoke again because of the amount of people, so each person
will 'bogart' the hose, because they feel they have to get in as much
as they can because it will take forever to make another rotation
(atleast this is what happens with my group...).

But yeah, two single hosers should do it. 1 single hose hookah for each person is a bit overkill :)

I have a 4 hoser that came with autoseal..and while it was cool to have 4 people smoking and once around the table, it did get to a point where you had to watch who was puffingg when, which kinda defeated the purpose...
I ended up drilling out the autoseal on 2 ports, and I just don't hook up the other 2 to hoses. Like Yash, I find the passing and talking between turns to be half the fun. Also keeps you from getting quite so much smoke, thus avoiding Hookahhead later..
Get a pair of 2 hosers...easier to smoke with just a few of you and you can even mix and match flavours....
