Chreees
Herro erryone... So I went to the local shop today to pick up my Mya Petite. I had seen them there before and decided today I wanted one. Well, after that time of going to the shop and seeing the Petites, Click, another member, posted about these Eco-Brico coconut coals he picked up, and said they're almost as good as Coconaras. He posted a pic, and I knew I had seen them before. Sure enough, I remembered it was at my local shop. I remembered thinking about how sketchy the box looked, lol. Well, today when I went they still had them, so I got a box along with the Petite. They cost $4.99! Can't remember the count, and I can't find Click's original post on them... I'll check later when I'm not at work. Anyway, I plan on smoking Sunday out of the Petite and doing a side-by-side comparison of the Eco-Bricos vs. the cube CCNs (I only have cubes right now, flats are on their way). Has anyone else seen the Eco-Bricos before and tried them?

Click
I haven't had a single one split. Really impressive for the price.
Chreees
Woo, that encourages me. I can't wait to try them tomorrow. I'm sitting in front of a camera about to shoot this college football game. Then it's back to work tonight. So no sleep for me until 8AM tomorrow. And I've been up since 9PM last night, because I had work last night.
Chreees
I tried the Eco-Bricos and immediately had to remove them... Had a VERY harsh burning taste to them. I then threw on CCNs and now I'm smoking good.... I'm thinking these are different than the ones Click gets or something... Really I think my local shop just carries all the shitty batches of coals. agunn1231
i got some of these coals at a local shop for $5....they sucked. I used the whole box only because i couldnt afford new ones....at times they wouldn't even light, or they would go out while smoking them....it took like 20 minutes on the stove on high to get them to start lighting.... I'll now say beware before buying them. It may be worth buying a box to see if you get a good batch? I'm not sure how they differ, but I've used over 25% of the box and I haven't had a single problem.

Chreees
Yeah man, I have no idea. AF cocos from this shop were the same way- total shit. But the AF cocos Jay sent me (he bought them from HJ) were awesome. So I'm thinking bad batch. I'm going to try them again though and see how it goes. These didn't ash ANYTHING like CCNs. It was more like CHs. They were fully red, and didn't smell at all while lighting. But first hit I took it was unbearable. I adjusted, second hit, still unbearable. Threw em off, went and lit some CCNs, and the rest of the session was awesome. It was more of a just harshness, not really burning...

Ray [/quote] The ones Jay has sent me are really good. I give them 9/10, point knocked off for longevity (they don't last as long as CCNs). But the AFs I buy locally are shit. They look the same as Jay's, but ash differently and smell VERY strongly when lighting, and then I taste it as I'm smoking. CH nats I give an 8/10, point knocked off for longevity, point knocked off for the way they ash.

On CCN's website they offer both now- the cubes and new flats. I think vendors are going back to carrying the flats.
