Will This Vase Be A Problem?

I am buying a used KM double tri metal today but the vase opening has a little defect. The the opening is not circular it is a little oval in shape. The seller says it seals fine once the stem is on and it smokes like a KM should. He was told because they are hand made this happens.
What do you think, will it be a problem?

Probably not. I love vases and have a few, all handblown,and there are differencesmostly in diameter.Someone,it maybe Hs or HC sells a gasket band that is like a large rubber band. it works well on my jumbo vintage vase. Theres awlays wet paper towels or electrical tape too
You can always test your seal by sealing the bowl area and purge valve and blow in, check around your gasket for escaping air

My KM had the same thing. It wasn't a problem just stood a little crooked.

Unfortunately these kind of defects happen more often than they should. I have a bohemian base that has the same problem. But like the others have said you can check to make sure its not leaking air. If it is, there are different ways to fix the problem. Let us know how it is.

I had the same exact problem when i ordered my KM from HC. I just bought a BoHo vase cause i didnt want to go through the trouble. Besides, KMs look beautiful sitting on a BoHo =)
