Alex Victor
Hi everyone i need some tips as to what type of hookah i should buy for a starter/beginner. I want a hookah that prouduces a larger cloud but is still fairly portable and not TERRIBLY expensive. I would also LOVE advice or tips a beginner would find most helpful. Thanks! jorlyfish
There are a ton of reviews on here, and everyone will tell you something a little different, but most (if not all) will recommend a Mya or Khalil Mammoon hookah. As far as portability, don't be afraid to get a smaller hookah; they still can produce great clouds! I have a Mya Bambino ( http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1485-bambino-1-hose-mya-hookah.html ) and it works just lovely. The Mya QT is another popular smaller one: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-184-mya-qt-1-hose-hookah.html Both of those are around $50. Hookah-Shisha (http://www.hookah-shisha.com) is offering free shipping on orders over $75 this month, so throw in some shisha and coals with that order, maybe a spare bowl, and you could easily reach $75. There are a lot of good vendors though... HookahJohn (http://www.hookahjohn.com/) is another one that should not be without mention

Wish I'd bought this one instead of the Bambino for my starter hookah. But the Bambino has been great, awesome clouds and relatively easy portability. One of the latches on the case that came with it broke almost instantly. And I did have to buy a bigger ash tray for it, the one that comes with it is so small, pretty much won't catch a darned thing that falls off the bowl except a bit of ash. Jorlyfish is giving you some good advice here. Read the reviews, they'll help a lot. Also, with the Bambino, buying a big fancy hose is really not necessary, the weight of them will just pull your hookah right over. I bought a plastic washable hose for my Bambino--it has great pull and a good diameter for easy smoking--and it doesn't pull the hookah over. The pull on the plastic washable hose was much better than the pull on the hose that came with the hookah, the Mya hose that came with it gave me a headache--it just had such a small diameter. I use the plastic washable hose exclusively with the Bambino.
noodle
I love my Mya QT. Though, I wish it came with a regular hard case instead of that weird cage. I found a case for it elsewhere so now I can pack everything I need for a smoke session.
