Wait in line? Hell no. I did the smart thing. Pre-ordered at Best Buy. I got $30 in gift cards AND a pretty freaking sweet blow up energy sword. And what did you get for pre-ordering at Gamestop? Some armor that has a very similar appearance to another one in the armory so great sale there. Anyway, my eyes are bleeding from playing too much today. Halo break which = sleepy time.

Didn't wait in line. I didn't pre-order either. The Bestbuy by my house gets almost no business compared to the others in town so they didn't have a midnight release, but I went this morning, bought the special edition xbox and the special edition game. Pretty stoked. Almost beat the campaign today with my friend but got side tracked with Multiplayer. Such a great game. Its a lot harder than I remember the others being. I'd be playing right now but I have too much homework due tomorrow to ignore.

Will I did wait in line it was at best buy not gamestop. Only waited 3 hours wasn't doing anything else anyways. And I got 2 of the swords and a Beanie as well as a $20 gift card just for going to the midnight launch.

ive got it, waited in line as well, beat campaign 4 hours after midnight launch, does anyone else think legendary is freaking so much harder than before. its really messing with me.

i was going to mod but the one i want to do doesnt allow me to play on live, easy to spot the mod i guess, any suggestions from you guys, tired of paying soooo much for games.

this is why im thinking of rebuilding my computer again, i would just download games and pay a very small amount for them, think i payed $5 for call of duty modern warfare when it came out. freakin game developers gouging us for money

My 360 Gamertag is spectrum2021 but I've been busy and since I live upstairs instead of downstairs and no wireless on my 360 I don't have online at the moment unless I move downstairs which with my stepdad is a no no but when I get completely set up I say we frag it up... and I waited in line...me and a friend played Eye-spy, Rock paper Scissors, and some version where you use your body it's Gun-bear-man ...freaking awesome to play in line ...and we made fun of the hardcore players because they are well the stereo-type no life who put all their time into the game >.< Didn't know so many lived in the Phoenix area ....

AND ABOUT THAT 150 PRICE TAG FOR THE LEGENDARY EDITION 0_0 I asked the clerk how much that was because it's a huge box and when he told me I yelled out "FUCK!!!" and the clerk said back "Yes Fig is right" lol

It wasn't Armor, armor...just a piece of Armor ... >.> just a chestplate...what a let down...but the game is solid and fun and I don't want to say it cause I don't want to ruin it but I laughed so hard at some points that just defied logic XD

Didn't Microsoft finish banning users who modded their Xbox? I'd love to do this, but I'm too scared of messing up my Xbox's OS and getting banned.

I have not been online much which is why I didn't see this thread, but I think the multiplayer sucks balls.
Not going to lie.

Covenant sniper is broken.
Energy Sword is broken.
Pistol still sucks.
DMR...WTF I want my battle rifle back.

Anyways, I went to BB at 11:00 PM. Was one of the first in line, got my copy of the game and a free 20$ giftcard. (schweet)
I played 1 level of the campaign with two of my friends on live - went to bed because of 9 AM classes. Then the next night, my friend brought his 42 inch LCD, my other friend brought his 25.5" computer monitor and I have my 42 inch LCD. So we had 3 xboxs and 3 tvs. It was a bomb set up. Anyways, from about 5 PM to 3 AM we powered through the entire campaign on heroic.

Anyways, my GT is porksandwich911.
I've already moved back to modern warfare 2 because I really can't stand the halo:reach multiplayer. (To be honest)
But I regularly play MW2, COD4, Halo 3, Reach (a bit), and Rockband 2.
So if you guys play any of that, just add me as a friend, and send a text message saying who you are on the forums and we can kill some bitches together.

The 2 biggest reasons ppl get caught with modded boxes is 1. they don't have the lastest firmware to make the game look bought. 2. they get to anxious to play a game before it's release and play it on live and get caught. And when I said I had one, only reason I don't still have it as because it broke, not rrod. but just wear and tear broke. I didn't do mine myself I sent mine to a friend and had it done. but it didn't mess up anything on the xbox and you couldn't tell a difference in burned games or bought ones.

Has anyone modded their controller? Either for the rapid fire or jump shot drop shot? I was thinking about doing the jump shot drop shot so I can jump and shoot at the same time. You can actually get temporarily banned from Xbox live for having the rapid fire since its considered manipulating the game but the jump shot drop shot is just rearranging the buttons. I can't find any How-To's for the jump shot drop shot though.

Yep had/have HD at the time and everything was there, you seriously couldn't tell any difference except for the disc itself..heheh plain DL disc with COD written on it doesn't look as fancy but it wasn't 60 bucks either..LOL

Let's get this straight. There are two types of mods: DVD Drive mod and a JTAG.

DVD-Drive mod allows the drive to read games on burnt DVDs. This always has been and still will be banned but MS does the banning in waves so it can get as many people as possible. You may not have been banned yet but it will be caught and you will eventually get banned.

The JTAG mod is highly complex, hard to get, and pricey/time consuming but allows you to do whatever the original xbox mods let you do like save movies, games, emulators, homebrews onto the hard drive. If you play with a JTAG xbox online, certain things can happen: You keyvault gets banned within 4 minutes or less (if you're running a modded MW2 lobby) or you can play downloaded games to your hearts content online but people still eventually get banned somehow.

People were banned from the Halo servers by Bungie if their gamertag was caught playing Reach before its official relase so it wasn't a MS ban but only Bungie ban.

I've got a JTAG-able xbox right now and need to ship it to someone to mod for me. Edited September 29, 2010 by thehelios
