hookah cafe

Recommended Posts

so i went to a hookah lounge today, yeah its also my first time and damnn i noticed such a big difference between the flavors of using it at home and getting it at the lounge. I followed all the steps and thought that the flavor that hit me was as much as it would get but at the lounge it was 10 times more flavorful, i really want to know why even after doing the things i am suppose to at home, i am still not able to get half as much flavor as when i smoke in the lounge

It wouldn't hurt anyone to ask the people at the lounge how they prep
their hookahs. I did it myself when I was first getting into the hobby.
They taught be the basics, and then I modified their techniques over
time to develope my own style of preping/seting up.

Just a quick reminder, make sure your hookah is air tight. A lot of the
times with hookahs that arn't sealed properly and have leaks, they let
in outside air, which will dilute your flavor/smoke.

Are you still getting really thick clouds of smoke but just no flavor?

If your hookah is fine, talk to the people at the lounge, I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving you some pointers on how they pack.

thanks yashman, yeah i was at the lounge and told them about my problem and i think it was the owner told me to bring it to the lounge. i still get lots of smoke, when it gets going the smoke becomes pretty dense, i just seem to not get the amount of flavor that i would at the cafe

The difference could be in the coals that most cafe's use and the coals that most people use in their homes.  They can make a pretty big difference in the flavor of the shisha, so be sure to get your hands on a bag of the coals that your cafe uses.  It's what I did a few years back and it made a big difference.  The way they pack the head with shisha actually also helps with the way it burns.  It's usually the little details that we overlook at home.  Hope you get it worked out.

yeah i think they all serve nakhla in the cafes that i go to. Yeah by the looks of it, it seems like they are using the quicklite coals, they have the same shape as the 3 kings that i use. It just really frustrates me because at home i already thought there was flavor and when i tried it at the cafe, there was 10 times more flavor

Bah, I wont be going to any cafe until I smoke up the majority of my shisha simply because I'm worried they will produce more flavor...Are you acclimating your shisha? Is your hookah AND hose clean? Finally, do you have access to natural coals (non-quicklight) so you can rule out those 3 Kings. I've heard a few horror stories, as well as experienced shady smokes myself.

Maybe that lounge is using Tangiers Tobacco![upph! Get off me!][Stop the commercializing-!][Viva the revolution! Manners and propriety have lost ag-!][You, dirty, cheating, loud-mouthed...!]Tangiers would like to apologize for this blatantly commercial message. I know this might be too simple...head, hookah...the lounge uses better ones than you do. Not to mention tobacco...they might be using Al Amir or Al Fakher or even Fumari. You use Nahkla which is notably more...minimalist in its flavors.
