dizzbizz
So I check out my local craigslist every once in a while to see if anyone is selling a decent hookah to add to my collection. I found this add two days ago and I'm gonna check it out later today to see if it's worth it. Well, even if its in bad shape I' gonna pick it up anyway cause he's selling a bunch of stuff, including the hookah for only $15. To me it looks like the KM Precision HJ has on his site, I've seen this style before but the one HJ has is silver in color, and this is yellow, like a brass, but the hose port looks very similar and also the purge valve. I didn't know if KM makes this model in brass or just stainless steel, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought. I'm gonna pick it up and report back later! Here's the pic. Genie
I'm NOT and expert. But wow, the brass stem on this looks just like my silver-toned KM Kafae stem! My KM Kafae I think it's definitely a KM and I'd totally pay $15 for it. But hey, for $15 i say go for it, if it is spraypainted, just remove it. Do eet
Rani
When you get a look at it, look for the lotus stamp, most likely on the tray holder. That's the only guaranteed way to tell it's a KM, but from what we all see it's more than likely. 'Rani

Genie
I found an image of one at a vendor site (says it's out of stock) that looks brass but I can't share the link here. Found it doing a Google web search for "Khalil Mamoon Kafae". Comes up as the 11th hit on a Google image search. If you care to look.
Epoch
$15 is basically no loss for a new hookah. If it smokes well for even a month, I'd say it's worth it.
Chreees
Looks like a KM Kafae to me. And for $15, it's a steal. Just not too sure about that color....
The Greek
Not to thread jack, but i was wondering if someone could also help my ID my hookah. I bought it at the beginning of summer from a local shop for about 80$. I had no clue what i was doing at the time haha. I bought a new bowl and hose for it because i didnt like the original one it came with
dizzbizz
Ok, so I bought it and I'm convinced this is an old KM. Like REALLY old. The guy said he's had it for about 5 years, and he got it for free for helping this old Asian lady move, and she bought it in Egypt some time back. It's got some problems as I'll show later but it's made of brass and its heavy. It has the lotus stamp and a few other stamps that I'll also show. Its kind of interesting, its a bimetal hookah. It's made of mostly brass but also some stainless steel. Also the hose he gave me with it looks strikingly similar to a KM Rainbow hose, save for the plastic tips. But its a wide gauge hose with the same rainbow/color changing string running around the hose. Very interesting. However it didn't come with a usual KM tray but with a couple others. I think its a KM before the modern improvements. What do you guys think? Here are the pics, I have a bunch so be prepared. Starting with the basics first:

The Greek
Im pretty sure whatever that is, is what mine is. The way the stem is identical to that but its stainless steel. So most likely mine might be an old KM?

Look at the second photo where the tray sits on the stem. You see those carvings? If your hookah has those on the trayholder its a KM if it doesnt then it is not a KM. It can just vry well be a generic Egyptian hookah.

Genie
I think you've got an awesome new (old) KM hookah in your collection. I'd have bought that sucker in a heartbeat. Those trays are gorgeous too, especially the flared one. And if the hose is no longer usable, which wouldn't surprise me a bit, I'd totally tear it apart and use that gorgeous hose end on a homemade hose of my own. I'm not surprised the bowl piece came off the top of the hookah stem, the one on my year-old KM Kafae spins, I have to remember not to twist it for fear I'll end up with the same problem one day. Excellent find, I'd love to see a better photo of the vase if you get the chance!
dizzbizz
I don't think the bases he gave me are the original but it came with two. The Greek
Na i dont speak much greek but im trying to learn it. The green vase that was posted looks oddly similar like almost exactly like mine. Its the exact same vase and theres gold rings that go around it. Only difference is i dont think mine has the gold flower thing
dizzbizz
My friends bowl piece spins too. Is there any way to fix that? Does it make any problems, except the spinning?
I epoxied it to the tray holder. I did a VERY thin line on the bottom of the bowl adapter and a very thin line again on the inside circumference of the tray holder. I then held pressure on it for about 5 minutes, then let it dry. Smoked it today after 24 hours of curing and its strong as an ox. I was worried it would get hot and the epoxy would fume, but throughout the session I'd touch it and it would be cold, even 4 rounds of coals later. I found that it not being attached did cause a minor air leak because the stem would insert into the bowl adapter leaving an opening between the adapter and the stem. If you seal up either end, it should be air tight and leak free.
