Al Nawras Is Back!

Recommended Posts

HJ has 'em! I've only ever heard about how awesome they are, and never really have seen them since I started smoking hookah in Aug 2009. They really look nice, much better I think than the new Nours. They seem on par with the old Nours. My favorite one is the 27G. It looks just like my favorite style of Nour. I am oh so tempted to pick up the 27G, but funds just won't allow it right now. Perhaps in the very near future. I'd like to hear some feedback from others first anyway. How does everyone else feel about these? I love 'em, and glad John was able to find them.

Also, for those that don't know, John has announced he'll be bringing out his own Syrian/Lebanese hookah line probably next year, along with his own shisha line. Finally, the stagnant hookah market sees something new and refreshing.

Yeah, I'm definitely wanting to hear feedback from people who are the first to buy. John was getting nice cloudage it seemed, but then again it seemed like he had a lot of coal on... And he was outside, so the wind... It just looks so restrictive. But they are sexy as hell.

A local shop sells these exact same hookahs. I always assumed they were Nours. My girlfriend bought one and I like it. I'd say it smokes just as good as my Mya Paragon, we've gotten some great sessions with it. However, the stem is light and the down stem is really short.

I believe it is supposed to be humorous.

The only person I know that has an Al Narwas is Scoop, but he is gone from the forum.  If I remember correctly it was one of his favorite hookahs, but his was years old.  I'm sure they're great hookahs, but a little expensive for me right now.

Syrian and Leb araagil always have much shorter downstems than Egyptian or Turkish ones....Keep this in mind, because big, foot-tall KM type vases will work poorly with them

I understand brass isn't light, but I also doubt they construct all of their hookahs from brass. Either way maybe the one my girlfriend bought isn't a Nawras, but I've seen many of those exact models at the local shop. I asked to handle them, because I noticed the styling was Syrian, most were heavy and some were light, like my girlfriends. But they all had common traits and through my inspection pretty durable.

do nawras have any kind of marking that is their signature like kms lotus
[/quote]

No, I don't believe so.

And dizzbizz, Scoop posted on another forum that China is now cranking out ripoff Syrians. They look just like the Nour/Nawras, but are Chinese. Even comes with a fake boho!

See it back there taunting you?

It gives me a chub every time I see it. I really want one of those genie vases for the Nour I'm getting from Kevin.
