Miss Crafted
I recently got a KM, but the hose I got with it is giving me a hard time. It's a KM AS Pro, but seems to weigh more than the rest of my hookah. Alex's KM Rainbow hose is lighter and doesn't cause this problem. HOWEVER! it's super ghosted with Marachino Cherry Tang. We went to the 6 shops that carry decent hookah supplies, none of them had a hose with a wide boar. (fail) Is there anyway to combat my leaning tower of oh-my-goddness-there-are-coals-in-my-lap,or should I just cave and get a new lighter hose? Any recommendations are helpful. Chreees
It's because of that long, heavy hose port end. I had a Narbish with my KM and it was the same way. Or it could be your grommet just isn't tight enough, allowing the lean...
dizzbizz
I say just wash you buddies hose with vinegar really quick to get the ghosting out. Then order a new hose online, when you got the dough.
Genie
Doesn't someone make a suction cup vase base? Maybe some adhesive dots at the bottom of your hookah? They make glue dots and then there's some sort of adhesive putty stuff--it's nice because it's not permanent and won't mark furniture.
Genie
As for ghosting.... I had to just smoke through it when some Nakhla Cardamom skanked my non-washable hose. It finally improved. And I never smoked that skanky sheesh again.

noodle
It seems to me that the base gasket is too loose.
ntur
get some sticks and make a tripod to hold up that long hose port end. maybe put some rubber ends on the legs so they dont slide.

I think I'd buy a smaller, wooden hose port end (or rip one off a hose I don't use) for it and rip that long-ass plastic sucker out. Or
r1v3th3ad
I see what your problem is...I had the KM gold and black hose for my MZ when I first bought it. It was too big, often making the hookah lean or the hose fall out of the port. I went Nammor and never looked back. I have neither problems with it due to its hose port end's size. There are some flaws with this hose, but all around it is a great hose and has the wide boar you are looking for. Trust me, the hose is worth the money. My first nammor hose I bought I still have. Over two years later and the hose is still a champ(with the addition of duct tape to the grommets for better seal), only thing is is that after 2years, it is starting to flavor ghost no matter how rigorously I clean it. But fu**, two years with a $20 hose is beautiful, I couldn't ask for more. I think your solution rests in the modern market. Nammor hose, Tehsah(non-washable)hose, Narbish v4 hose(I can't say anything good or bad, I smoked the v2 and it fell apart but smoked great), or the Razan series from Nazarhookah(only heard good reviews, but it doesn't seem that that many forum members have them)

I LOVE them. Awesome hoses, great price. And they fit great in my KM, although my KM does seem to have a huge port--I have to use the harder hose grommets with the Razans and really shove them way down into the port. The softer, opaque hose grommets with the lip don't cut it unless I use a bit of wet paper towel as well.
ih303
I say just wash you buddies hose with vinegar really quick to get the ghosting out. Then order a new hose online, when you got the dough.
I woudn't do that. If it's the same as all the KM Rainbow hoses I've see, it's not washable. Egyptian style hoses are silly things. Sure they look cool with all that rope wrapped around them and the long, handled ends, but the reality is they're simply not practical. First, if you're not smoking out of at least a 27"-29" pipe with a bell vase and solid stem, it's gonna fall over. Second, don't think about sitting around a table passing one of these guys. If your bud across the table from you pulls even a little too hard, there's a good chance the whole thing could come down. You've got a couple of options. 1) Mod your hose or 2) buy a new hose. Or better yet, do both. First, do yourself a favor and get a basic Razan (in my experience they're the best washables on the market). Or, if you prefer the look of egyptian hoses, pick up a Narbish v.4 or a Razan Abu Mahir (essentially the same hose). Once you have something to smoke out of, start modding your favorite Egyptian. This can be done with a razor blade, small hacksaw or pipe cutter, roll of electrical tape, and super-glue. Essentially all you're doing is chopping the port end to a more managable size. Of course, I'd only recommend modding if you have an egyptian hose that you're in love with (like myself with Narbish v.1's ) If you have any more questions RE: washable hoses, do a search on the forum. There's tons of info out there about 'em. Hope this helps.

Im actually in the process of switching my grommets and I use electric tape to thicken the stem for the grommet to fit tight...I have a half done/adjusted km stem...it still leans so I might just change the grommet or thicken the stem with e tape...the base should be heavy enough for it to support any hose...
Agreed. I favor the most ghetto of approaches - wet paper towels, I honestly think it's better than tape. If its still an issue, get a Razan or Nammor, or possibly the newest Narbish (which smokes as well as the former but looks a hell of a lot better)

Miss Crafted
Well, hot dang. Thank you everyone. I'm thinking about going for the Narbish, Alex seems to want one, and they habs a gold and white one. I'm totally in the mood to match.
Chreees
Make sure you get a v4 (not sure if the old versions are even still available). But the v4 has a much shorter hoseport handle, so it should help with the tipping. Also, how tight is your vase grommet?
noodle
The Narbish v4 still has a longer hose handle than the Nammor. That's why I'm sticking with the Nammor for the time being.
