Moovey
I just was reminded that I signed up for direct deposit for my Permanent Fund Dividend. And if you don't know what that means, it means that I just got $1281.00 just for living in Alaska. WOOT WOOT! Go me! And Chris, do you still have that Purple Funnel on the market? Moovey
Also, if I can manage to save some of the money after bills, what kind of new hookah/ hookah stuff should I get?
Tyler
It's not just for living in Alaska, it's the state's way of paying back people for the increased double-import rate of goods being shipped to Alaska.
Moovey
I'm so excited though that I don't really care. I just got money, and it's more than a paycheck... You're bringin' me down, man.
Tyler
I lived in Alaska for 10 years so I know what its like, but its unfair to claim that you get it just for "livining in Alaska." The money comes from a few sources: The primary source is the profit made from the oil from the pipeline that is given out to help offset import costs Minor source from the goverment to serve as an economic stimulus (this is actually where Obama got his idea from) Minor source from the national goverment that pays the state a dividen for doing certain things for the native tribes The dividen goes up and down each year like a stock, by factoring in the cost of gas, imported goods and taxes on those, state taxes, economic trend, and census results the amount goes up and down. The highest I recieved when I lived there was ~1,800 but the lowest was I think around 700. I miss it a lot but I don't miss the price of living in Alaska.
