Hassouni
So as some of you know, I'm about to order an Elmas from Turkey (it's cheaper than from the German site). After a long series of emails in broken Turkish on my side and mostly passable English on their side, I'm pretty much ready to order, I just have a question about whether they include tobacco with an order and if tax is included (since they're selling outside Turkey). It will only make about $20 difference either way, but I haven't heard from them in a couple days. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger regardless and just seeing what happens re: tax and stuff. What would you guys do?

mustafabey
Well which is more important saving $20 or instant gratification. Even in my retirement induced poverty I'd go ahead, but that me. The site is nice, all those yummy nargiles. Some accesories too. They call a windcover a kalpak! i could see some Turkoman shepherd wearing one of those on his head
Hassouni
haha the usual Turkish is ruzgarlik, meaning wind-ness/wind-thing.... I dunno whats more important! I can just barely afford it as is...
mustafabey
Yes i know the feeling. Just found out today that social security is not getting a raise but my property taxes have increased and I'm SO happy Bernanke wants to give more money to the fat cats. My expediture for toys will be next to nothing now most of it going to books these days.Well i know you always wanted an Elmas,so go for it cause I certainly don't see things getting any better no matter who wins the elections. BUT we want pics if you get it, right!
Hassouni
Benim Beyim, of COURSE there will be pics!
Chreees
If the extra $20 doesn't really matter to you, then I say pull the trigger now... If you think you might need that $20 to buy something else, then wait...

twoapplesplease
Personally I'd wait another month to save a few more bucks up and do a proper order
Hassouni
Yup. That's the Beşiktaş football club-themed nargile. That's all handmade brass.....

Waiting till I get back to the US isn't even an option for me

Majid
Yup. That's the Beşiktaş football club-themed nargile. That's all handmade brass.....
That's actually Fenerbahce themed, Besiktas would be the eagle one, Galatasaray the lion. By the way anyone tried talking the price down at all? Hassouni
Hahaha thanks for the correction, I I wasn't totally sure about the non GSK ones.... Talking seems to be the big issue here, i.e. lack of communication on their part. Do you speak Turkish by chance?

Hassouni
Haha Google Translate for Turkish leaves a lot to be desired. So I heard back from them, placed an order, but their website rejected my CC since its not Turkish. They're now talking to their bank to see what they can do.... this never ends... BTW, if anyone can make free Bank Transfers, they'll accept that. My bank just charges me £15 ($25ish) to do it. Actually if anyone can do that, and wants to do me a favor, I can MF you the amount....
