Km Or Mya

Hey Im looking to buy me a new hookah and I am trying to decide between a KM shooting star or a Mya colossus. I woundering if anyone has tried any of these or had another hookah in mind that they thought was a pretty good deal.

They both are good pipes
They both will smoke about the same
The Km is cheaper, that doesn't make it of less quality
Asthetics are all that matter at this point
Pick which one you think looks better

THIS.  I think they both look great.  That KM is quite a bit more expensive than most one hose KMs, so it really is just which you think looks better.

I agree with this man right here. Get what you think looks better. Also, remember- that Mya can turn into a four-hoser...

KM shooting star hands down...if you think the colossus looks better than that...I dunno
plus MYAs dont purge well bcoz of the common chamber...smoke well though (MYAs in general)
if this will be your first pipe I highly recommend a KM

I have multiple Km and Mya sitting at home. I agree, it is all about looks at this point. I like the shooting star better but that is my opinion.

Welp, Travis nailed his prediction.

Choose whichever one you want. I would go with the mya in this situation, just because I find it more asthetically pleasing. Plus, I'm a fan of the vase.

I would consider whether or not this is going to be a hookah that you have outdoors, even if only occasionally. If I was going to invest in a hookah that didn't leave my living room, Mya. if I wanted to let it travel, KM. Only because having owned both a large KM and a large(er than a qt) mya, I find KM to be a more resilliant transport.

I'd choose neither. Find yourself a Temsaah. IMO, you'll get the most hookah for your money that way.

Hmm, they're both a bit fancy for my taste, but speaking as a woman, I think the Mya will get more attention from the ladies. The KM will get you more cred with the fellas. They'll both make you pretty happy--not sure how happy you'll be with the draw on the Mya hose, pretty as it will be. But, then, I've never tried one of their leather hoses. I know their regular hoses have pretty lousy draw. I have the Mya Bambino which has a tiny bit of that cloisonne on it, it's really gorgeous up close. I'm betting the Mya Colossus is much prettier in person too. I agree with pretty much everything everyone else has said here.

Wait, what criteria is the OP basing his search on? I suppose I've never really considered the hookah's role in getting laid. But if that's what we're going off of I'd definitely recommend the pink Ed Hardy hookah.

Just saying the KM looks very masculine whereas the Mya is quite lovely. Didn't say either would get him laid, said the ladies would be more interested in the Mya--if that increases his chances of hookahing up, then so be it. However, just cause I want to suck on your Mya doesn't mean I want to suck on you.

How long would it take for the KM to go bad? How would it go bad?

In my opinion, a pipe will last you for as long as you take care of it. In other words, if you baby the hell out of it, it'll last you forever. Cleaning and care is key. Only issue I can see with Mya's longevity is how there's so much that unscrews- threading can/does wear out. If you are careful, it shouldn't be a problem really. But I do love Mya. KM and Mya are both great brands. The two top brands, I believe.

Hold on... Is this your first hookah?

If YES, get a Mya QT. The best starter hookah, period. Plus it's cheap enough to allow you to get a washable hose and phunnel bowl all for less than what you'd spend on the KM!

If NO, get whatever looks good to you. If you already have a Mya, get a KM or other Egyptian. If you already have an Egyptian, get a Mya. Afterall, variety is the spice o' life!
