Afzal Pan Rasna

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know a site to order Afzal Pan Rasna from in the US? I'm talking about the AFZAL brand, not the Soex or Desi Murli ones.

It is my all time favorite flavor and I haven't been able to find it for the past year! Texashookah used to sell it but they've been out for awhile now.

Paan(pan) is a betel leaf plus other ingredients condiment from India. Good homemade paan is chewed not smoked and will give you a little buzz. The nut is called the areca nut. Lime and other ingredients go in it. And extended usage changes your teeth from white to very dark purple. It was common in Vietnam also. I guess the shisha is pan flavor. Anyway for those interested heres a link with some infoPaan

I reckon, I've chewed my share of paan but never smoked paan shisha. Tobacco is a sometimes ingredient in paan. Real homemade paan is hard to get here, but then who wants purple teeth [url="http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.cosmetic-dentistry.bz/images/betelnut%2520smile.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.cosmetic-dentistry.bz/Beautiful-smile-perfect-teeth.htm&usg=__lEMMBanl_AtsRyzimAtvU8xt1yc=&h=473&w=429&sz=79&hl=en&start=14&sig2=CT9aeWvuqix_-Djlx3_KZQ&zoom=1&tbnid=ij-rLXS6FahBAM:&tbnh=129&tbnw=117&ei=5e_BTPPpDoT6lwe56ZTgCQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbetel%2Bteeth%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D579%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1"]TEETH

That takes having a "grill" to a-whole-nother level.

We laugh, but when I was in rural S.E.Asia most people over the age of 30 had teeth like these. it also seemed that they really enjoyed smiling. I know in the Heian era of Japanese history (8th-10th cent) the aristocrats blacked their teeth and this became the norm for the Emperor's court. I assume they got this from China, so chewing betel, for these folks makes them look beautiful. Its just another vision of beauty.

How do these people kiss or make out? Or do they not do that over there? God, imagine waking up to that every morning...

I prefer bombay paan masala that realy does hit the spot!
I think Afzal is just the rebranding of SOEX because there is no taste difference between the two.

Necroed thread?

Afzal Pan rasna is my one of my top 5 shisha, it's always in my stash and the only afzal I willingly smoke! Some find it cloying, some like me find it super minty and refreshing with a hint of sweetness (Just like an awesome pan).

It ghosts like a bitch though, so I have a hookah and hose dedicated to it, I mean it ghosts soooooooooo bad that it's literally impossible to get that smell out of your pipe!
