TJ Perry
I wondered about this too. I'll try it later. I'm still only having MODERATE success after my one decent bowl of blueberry. God this is so frustrating:(
Seraph
There are a lot of other factors than the cut of the tobacco that would go into it. Interesting that it worked for you, since the weather itself can affect it so much. He does a lot more different than just cut it differently I am interested to hear what he has to say. Catalyst Paintball
Now that Tangiers is back, we need his opinion!
Sonthert
The problem is, variables have changed...now that the tobacco has had an infinite amount of time to acclimate to the humidity, it will be in great shape. Did you try it first without chopping it up? That would be a better experiment. The pieces being larger does slow down the acclimation process, but not significantly...7-8% or so. It does make the packing go better so that the tobacco draws easier and it smokes cooler and with less charcoal.
Catalyst Paintball
Well, I've tried a few times to smoke Tangiers normally, and I've cut it once. Cutting it seems to make it more "heat friendly", and in turn, giving it a greater smoke density. When I cut it, I was not able to reproduce the flavor others were saying they were getting from Tangiers Watermelon. I have a Tangiers Bowl on order as well as Golden Hookah Coals. I will give both another few tries.
Sonthert
Yeah, see those different variables you are describing are not related, nor could they be. Humidity is the issue, not the size of the pieces, in my humble opinion.
