Formacio
I was fortunate enough to get stationed in Europe after I joined the Air Force. I've been here almost a year and plan on staying here another 2 years. I'm originally from west of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I noticed that Shisha lounges are real popular here and an awesome alternative to the bar or club scene. I really don't enjoy having to scream over some music to talk with people and I don't think I'm the only person who has that view. Anyways, I know that I could be successful if I started a lounge back in the states and I'm excited about being able to design the atmosphere. I'm just curious if anyone has any experience in owning a lounge. If so, do you rent or buy your property? I know that the inside smoking laws vary from state to state but MN just requires two exits. I don't plan on serving alcohol or any cooked food. Are there regulations on serving all kinds of food? Any piece of advice would be appreciated. Chreees
Dan posted a link to a VERY useful thread. Mainly you'll want to look at your area. Will a hookah lounge be successful? College towns are quite popular for lounges. Also make sure you pay close attention to the indoor smoking laws. All the states vary.
agunn1231
from what i learned in business class and from my dad's advice, if you wanna start a business, rent the location first....that way, if it doesnt last, you won't be stuck with an empty space
