agunn1231
OH....if you are using quick lighting coals, are they fully lit before you put them on, or still sparking and lighting and such?
kvtaco17
Both fluffy packs... if your getting clouds and no flavor it could be because of too much heat... OR try this clean everything thoroughly and then check for leaks just in case... but again more info would be helpful

I hope you cleaned the hookah after you bought it, cause even though hookahs such as KM are brand new doesn't mean they're clean and dust free. After cleaning your hookah, grab one quicklight and cut it in half, put both halves on opposite sides of the bowl. Make sure you pack fluffy to the rim or maybe past it a bit. gigi
Is it true that the natural coals are better than quicklight??
Cp44
Is it true that the natural coals are better than quicklight??
I always liked natural coals better than the QL but since the QL are so readily available, I use them mostly. Make sure like everyone said before, fluff the tobacco in the bowl so its not too packed. If the bowl that came with the KM like the one i have, then pack loosely. Verify there are no leaks where you plug the hose into the stem and the bowl is on tight. Are you putting the correct amount of water in the base? Josh Hamilton
bad taste = harsh smoke = too much heat = or your QLs arent fully lit (???what brand are you using???) suggestions > use HD foil (reynolds > put coals at the outer rim edges away from the center of the bowl > pack enough tobacco in the bowl Im guessing the culprit is both heat management and packing technique Edited November 17, 2010 by Josh Hamilton
Canon
Josh hit the nail on the head. It's most likely the heat management, your using too much heat. Put the coals closer to the rim on the bowl and make sure they are no longer black when you put them on. When i light quicklights i stand them up on their side so they light everywhere. If it still tastes like crap then get new coals.

Epoch
Make sure your purge valve is closed tight. My KM purge was leaky yesterday, had to take it off and stick the little bearing back in its spot.
blagage
you are probably just sucking at set up or coal management. It varies with the type of bowl, shisha, and coals you are using. Check out the various reviews of what you have tried and see what others have said. Maybe you have not chose the right things.
