18inch
I have experienced a LOT more smoke when the tobacco is very wet and liquidy... anyone has any suggestion on the optimum way to make the biggest cloud possible? thx
mushrat
Well, the smoke is mostly glycerin so it would make sense that the wet stuff makes more smoke. If you are doing it right. If not, you can get a lot of smoke from burning the shit out of it.
Chreees
I would say that wetness isn't necessarily always the key to big smoke. I've gotten very dry Nakhla to smoke extremely big.
Epoch
Every brand has a charcoal "sweet spot": the perfect amount of heat giving awesome flavor and big clouds! Just toy around with different levels of heat.
kbCorruption
I have also notice clouds are bigger when there is ice in the vase. So I guess colder water = bigger clouds?
Lucy Ford
some scientific nonsense about the cold making the smoke stick to itself. try taking a pull, then the next with an ice cube in your mouth. pro smoke rings
Nima
The tobacco certainly plays a big factor in the amount of smoke. The more molasses the more smoke. I do want to mention another factor that goes un-noticed to many new hookah smokers. and that is a high quality hookah hose. It makes a lot bigger difference than you might think. mustang67n
If i get a flavor I don't like.. like at all.. That's when I have a big cloud smoke session. 3 coals on a small bowl... yessss
ih303
It's all about the bowl and type of tobacco. In my experience you get denser smoke from molasses-based tobaccos (i.e. Tangiers, AF) than from honey-based tobaccos (i.e. Starbuzz, Romman). As far as the hose goes, you're only going to get as easy of a pull as the smallest opening on your hookah, so if you have a Mya, good luck.
I agree with tangires and Af .Sb i get just as much smoke. Smoke from af and tangires tho sticks together better .like if i blow asmoke ring it hold longer than SB but then sometimes SB ill get monster clouds with three coals on a mod bowl and not get a hars burning. Now my recipe for big thick clouds and have taste. Stem Km ice Base-Cold water .Ice is an option but i smoke outside before and after work and i work night shift so the base water is practically freezing .(small layer of ice is formed) + Bowl- Phunnel . Produses best results in my opinion . Keeps the jucies locked in .two AF QL + Loaded with favorite shisha SB code 69 ATM. +Hose - Grand hose should be similar to the ones on hookah john in diameter of hose + Mouth tip of hose Glass Tip bout it for cheap from someone who shan't be named =
Arcane
just add more coals... think of how the smoke is generated, coal vaporizes the glycerin from the tobacco. soooo, i'd say your main concerns should be heat and tobacco. increase the heat and tobacco (and the way you pack the tobacco) and you should be getting some better/bigger clouds... Allstar
I think it is the sweet spot. We can achieve that by heat management.
Venger
I couldn't care less about big clouds as long as I am getting good flavor. Sure having both is nice but if I have to choose one over the other flavor wins every time. Ray
blagage
If you are like me you love clouds that you just want to hug. I like to smoke the bowl for the flavor but once the flavor starts to dissipate i will put another coal on and heat it up for some huge clouds. This is not necessary for good smoke though. You just gotta know what your shisha likes. Know the perfect heat for your preferred tobacco. with a tangiers bowl if i pack tangiers i will start with four coals and usually go down to three once heated. With nakhla i start and end with four sometimes five, nakhla loves the heat
