gun4hire
Me and some of my friends are willing to fork out about $130 to spend on a new hookah. However, we have no idea what to look for, so the best I can do is tell you guys about what we are looking for: Portability is not a factor as it will not be moving from my basement. 2 or 3 hoses. Correct me if im wrong, but i think i read somewhere that any more than 3 hoses starts to reduce the quality of the draw. Tall(er). We were thinking at around 30 inches. Again, correct me if im wrong but the taller the pipes, the more time the smoke has to cool down before it gets to you. And of course, looking badass is always a plus, but we are going first for a good smoke. Also, what kind of hoses are the best? I hear to stay away from velvet and that leather is the best, but most of what we found was synthetic leather. Is there a difference? I can really think of any other guide lines, so what are you thoughts and/or questions? Thanks guys

For starters the the taller the hookah really does not make any difference in smoke. I have seen mya QT's produce clouds just as big as KM tri-metals. It is really about the bowl, the hose and the heat management As for hoses I'd suggest a Nammor or Razen just because they are washable. For a hookah if this is your first hookah I love the mya vortex, it's 130.00 exactly and it's just an awesome starter hookah. you could always go with a KM as well and you'll always get great production with those. I'd Strongly reccomend getting a tangiers phunnel bowl if you don't all ready have one. give me any type of hookah and I won't care, but I MUST have a phunnel bowl

Thanks for the advice man. Though this will not be our first hookah. We have been smoking for about 2 years now. We have just never really had a good hookah. The one we have now got the job done but she is on her last legs. I had to bust out the duct tape last night lol. But we do it enough that we all decided it would be worth it to pitch in and get a nice hookah this time.
agunn1231
can't go wrong with a mya or a KM, if you get a KM get a 1 hose, the one hose KM's work a bit better(not as much of a possibility for air leaks)

gun4hire
ok, well i think i am leaning towards a 2 hose Mya Vortex. Now, where is a good reliable place to buy one from?
agunn1231
2 hose vortex will be about 145, a good place to get one is Hookah-Shisha.com http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1769-mya-vortex-2-hose-hookah.html there is a link

joytron
honestly I think there are better and less expensive options out there. dizzbizz
The KMs are a good option, but if you want a multihose, I say go with a Mya. You can go with a QT and make it a two hose.
honestly I think there are better and less expensive options out there. http://www.hookahjoh...PECIALS_c28.htm
And that is really what i need to know. "Am i getting my $130 worth for XX hookah." From that link, which one would you get as apposed to the Mya Vortex? I appreciate you all showing me these different models, but beyond the way they look, i really have no idea. Or are we pretty much splitting hairs at this point? I guess i am asking if it is possible to get a bad hookah for around $130 assuming i stick with KM or Mya. But the bottom line is: how does it smoke?
The KMs are a good option, but if you want a multihose, I say go with a Mya. You can go with a QT and make it a two hose.
Yeah, i think i would like to stick with a 2 hoser unless it really going to degrade the smoking experience. The one we have now is a single hose and and it can take quite a while for it to get around sometimes. QUESTION: What if i get a 2 hoser and we only really need 1? Because about 50% of the time that is the case, but the other 50% i kinda wish i had 2. So, is it really going to hurt anything if we just have 1 of the 2 hoses plugged? FYI: we usually have 5-6 people smoking. Not unusual to see more or less though. Again, thanks for all your help guys! And IF IT SMOKES REALLY WELL, I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT! So keep em coming! Tikhman
All MYA hookahs will smoke the same, so which model you pick is up to you. Also, most of the MYAs will have autoseal in their hose ports, meaning that unless you're inhaling through that hose port, it'll be sealed on its own and you don't have to worry about it. What I would do, is pick up a MYA acrylic (sadly all seem to be sold out on hookah-shisha), but that a two hose acrylic would run ~$100 and a phunnel bowl and at least one nammor. That should run right about $130 and the nammor will make a huge difference to your current hose.
dizzbizz
You can buy either the single hose or double hose Mya QT. The difference would be the single comes with a purge valve and the double comes with an additional hose port. both are removable by unscrewing them. So technically you can buy a single hose and buy the adapter at a later time. If you get the hose adapter with the auto-seal it will have a metal bb identical to the one in the purge valve. The ball will get sucked down and close the hole in the hose port to seal it when someone is taking a hit. You can blow into the hose and purge with both the auto-seal adapter and the purge valve. So if you get a Mya multi hose with the auto-seal adapters you can have one or four(depending on the model) at the same time. A QT is limited to only two hoses though, but it smokes like a beast. If you were to go with a multihose Egyptian or Syrian hookah, you would need to buy a rubber stopper to plug the unused hose port or force your friends to plug their hose with their thumb, because they don't have the auto-seal hose adapter. Nima
Honestly more than one hose starts to affect the smoke pull. Khalil Mamoon is your best bet. however $130 might be a little too low for a two hose Khalil Mamoon. One Hose: Khalil Mamoon Halzone 2 Hose: Magdy Zidan Cairo + Nammor Hose (What I use myself)
mitchard
A one hose KM will serve you well. Two hoses is really unnecessary. I haven't used a multi-hosed pipe in years really, and we get along just fine with 4+ people smoking. Its just a matter of learning how to share

Chreees
If you're getting a Mya, then get one of the cheaper ones like the QT or Bambino. They'll smoke just as good as the bigger pricey ones, plus you can still make them two hoses. If you're getting one hose, I recommend KM.

I have a 22" mya bohemian and it is dissapointing to say the least. I think my 11" bambino smokes better than it, the draw is just very restricted. Getting a KM or maybe a Temsaah (I would reccomend one but I have not had the opportunity to smoke one outside of a lounge) would be a much better deal. They are going to be much less restrictive, come with a better hose, be quite a bit larger, and be cheaper on top of that. You cant really have two people smoking at one time, and passing the hose is just part of the experience. I am sure some people will disagree with me, but how much http://hookahjohn.co...-Inch-2090B.htm http://hookahjohn.co...Green-2096G.htm http://www.hookahcom...h_4878_prd1.htm http://www.hookahcom...h_4902_prd1.htm http://www.nazarhook...ecj8009kt2444b3 http://www.nazarhook...ecj8009kt2444b3 After that, It really comes down to personal preference. gun4hire
Well, after some though, I think i would like to stick to a two hoser, in which case i will also choose Mya. These are the two i am seriously considering right now, though i am still want to see what my friends think about them: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-2771-dionysus-mya-saray-hookah-2-hose-hookah.html http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1769-mya-vortex-2-hose-hookah.html I think they are essentially the exact same thing, but whatever. One thing i want to be clear on is that they have the auto-seals in case we only want to use one of the hoses. I don't see that either of them have the auto-seal anywhere in the description. For that matter, i don't see how tall they are either, though it sounds like that does not matter too much. I would still like to know if anyone could tell me. But yeah... what do you guys think about these models?

Chreees
Honestly, just get a two-hose Mya QT... http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1726-mya-qt-2-hose-hookah.html All Myas have the auto-seal function if you buy it as a two-hose. Get the Mya QT so you have plenty of money left to spend on sheesh and coals. Trust me, it'll smoke just as good as those bigger ones. So unless you just absolutely have to have a big one, go with the QT.

Or am i headed to despair and regret?
Chaz1337
Both pipes are Mya quality so you know your smoking experience will be good its now just all about Aesthetics and personal/group preference. I'm not really sure where all the negativity comes from regarding multi-hose hookahs. My friends and I pretty much HAVE to be each holding our own Nammor and dont want to bother with a single hose being passed around and around and missing valuable smoking time as well as potentially pulling over the hookah. Granted thats not to say that when my friends and I are using our 4 Hose Mya we have never puled it over or gotten hoses tangled, I just fell that for big groups the more hoses the better! I was in your place once. My first hookah was a three hose Mya Montopolis that my friends and I all split the cost up on. Heck if they are going to smoke with you why not make them pay up? We quickly converted it into a 4 Hoser by simply buying a fourth adapter all with the auto seal adapters which made smoking so much easier. Not really any pull problems to be mentioned except when multiple people are pulling. Truth be told I like a little bit of restriction that Mya provides. I own an AF pipe as well as a a couple of KMs and I have to say that I like the restriction the Mya provides versus the feeling of just breathing in that the Egyptian pipes give. If I remember correctly you can buy the one hose version of any of these Myas and simply purchase 3 more auto seal adapters and hoses as needed if you already have spare hoses and it will come out a bit cheaper. Just my .
