carpediembr
So guys, I` ve just travelled a little bit around the World and ended up in a Hookah Bar/Lounge in Turkey, which was delightful. Awesome service, awesome hookas and one thing that cought my attention awesome coal. They dont use the regular coal that I`ve seen around. (the black or silver one in packages) They use regular coal, coal. I dont know how to say it but they leave the coal in a big metal bucket and walk around the lounge replacing the small and big parts. Anyone from Turkey or been to Turkey know what type of coal they use? In a related topic, I bought a special hose, made of camel leather (at least is what the vendor said to me) anyone know if I can wash it (the inside parts)? Chreees
Yeah they're probably just using the bulk coal. That stuff is messy, but effective.

carpediembr
thanks for the feedback. I have a few more questions.. the hookah bars in US and other places, they use the regular coal? Or they use something like Turkey? The thing is I`m interested in opening a Hookah Lounge here in Sao Paulo, because right now we dont have any. Hassouni
In the middle east and places with a BIG concentration of Arabs they use the real wood coals like Turkey, but most places in the West use instant lights, which are awful.
Mahir
Agreed. They do use some sort of wood coal. It is either a lemonwood or the olivewood type of coal. They are the ones they have already waiting for you in some sort of metal fire pit or tray in front of the cafe. As for the US, it depends on the lounge really....however, most often than none, you will find instant lights being used in lounges. However, I have been to lounges where they use 100% natural coals. Takes a little longer to light, but....its a better experience
dizzbizz
The lounges in my city use lemon wood coals. Like said above, it depends on the lounge. However Ive NEVER seen any brand of coconut coals being used.
