New To The Forum, Here Are My Hookahs!

Hi! my name is Chris and i've been lurking around here lately, trying to figure out what new hookah to buy, it ended up being a KM Basha from Hookahcompany.com.
Overall i'm pleased with it, but i haven't really been able to smoke out of it, because it leaks like crazy and the grommet (well, a collection of rubber bands really) doesn't hold it in the vase at all, it just tips over.

If anyone has feedback about how i should address these problems, let me know please!

I have a mix of Al Fakher, Romman, and Starbuzz shisha, and that collection will certainly grow as gain more experience using this KM.

On to the photos!

Here are some close-ups so you can see how lame a job the welder did...how do i fix this easily? JB weld or modeling clay or something?

One of my other hookahs, a no-name from Turkey with the Syrian-style bowl (which sucks, because the bowl i've got is cracking and pretty much useless)
It's a gorgeous pipe, but it actually smokes pretty harsh and the inside is really corroded. Very tough to get the flavor to come through. I can't complain though, i got it for $40.
The hose is a KM Premium.

Dude, some truly gorgeous pipes. Everything about that basha is perfect, that is one of the nicest phunnels I have ever seen. As far as the grommet, I would email whoever you got it from and ask to be sent a replacement. For now you can wrap tape (black electrical tape works well) around the pipe which should tighten up the grommet some. Again beautiful pictures!

nice....the pipe in the back on the right, in the first picture....i like it a lot. The lounge i work at has a couple, and I just really want that vase but can't find it anywhere, and missed the opportunity to get one locally. So man, i envy you for having that one.

Lovely pipes! Just get a new vase grommet for your Basha.

The green hookah a Nammor?

Getting a new Syrian bowl should help the blue one a lot.

I can sell you a Turkish or Lebanese bowl if you want...I have like 10, literally

That pipe is definitely Syrian, by the way - In turkey most of the screw together ones are Syrian, and the heart is IDENTICAL to the first Lebanese pipe I got - I'm sure it was made in Syria

very nice, i'm a bit concerned though, don't you have a grommet? you should get one that fits, if it's a bit small a few rolls of black tape on the stem then applying the grommet will help. but rubber bands? idk, it just seems too complicated. what came with it? shoot a message to the guys at hc, they will most likely help you out. if not the guys here at hf will.

If you ever decide to get rid of that phunnel with the spatter, I want it. Amazing looking collection, no doubt.

Alex, this vase?

Hey guys, thanks for all the great feedback!

It's been smoking beautifully for about a month now, and i've got a huge new order of shisa on the way (all 250g : tangiers orange soda, AF mint/golden grape/golden ESK apple, starbuzz honey melon dew/pirate's cove)

I found out what the problem with the vase grommet was - i have to dry out the inner lip of the vase after i clean it, in order for the grommet to stick in nicely and seal. If it's wet, the pipe just tilts right over. It's a bunch of white silicone bands, which works in this case since i believe the mouth of the vase isn't quite circular. Anyhow, there are no leaks now (i sealed the purge valve and hose stem with silicone sealant) and the only place i see smoke when purging is from the valve :)

Pulls like a champ! I tried the tealight mod last night and it hit even better...just enormous thick tasty clouds with any Al Fakher blends, Starbuzz also smokes really nicely in it, and i don't have any of the harshness or dry-throat feeling that i was getting with the old Syrian (which i still need to buy another bowl for).

Only accessories i need now are a rubber base for the vase (wobbles a bit) and a nice tall wind cover for the phunnel.

Thanks again for all the ideas, i've learned so much from reading around on this site!!

EXZEN - i'm not really a photographer per se, i just care a lot about quality and have a decent camera/lens (canon T2i with 50mm f/1.4) with some Adobe Lightroom experience. It's all about the lighting :) The key is to never use your flash

Bowl adapter, so you can use your other bowls with the Syrian.

They are all sweet! You can repair the weld leaks on the Basha with some JB Weld for sure. Use a toothpick be careful not to use too much. Wet paper towel always works for tightening up a vase grommet. I would find the right bowl to fit your grommet or vise-verse. Personally I don't like the idea of using anything that may produce toxic fumes when combusted, even partially, like electrical tape. Nice collection indeed.
