Tombac

Recommended Posts

So, I'm going to place an order with Southsmoke soon and I was thinking about ordering their tombac. Anybody have experience with this stuff? I know theres an old thread on it with a video, but I just wanted to see what our forum knows about smoking it and packing it. Thanks!

Hey, that's my thread! So that stuff there is the oldest-school of them all, referred to as 'Ajami in the Arab world. You're supposed to make that cigar thing out of it, I GUESS you can shred it and put it in a normal bowl but that's not how it's meant to be done. It gives an epic ass-kicking apparently (not smoked it myself) - like think several cigars in a row

What exactly is the question?

Thats one way to pack it, in my video, and its like inhaling a cheap cigar when you smoke it. I can make it, but i sure as HELL won't smoke it. And for the record thats the brand i used at the lounge.

heh order them from nargilestore....

78 cents each if I am not mistaken. I wonder how much shipping would be for 10 or so.

Probably not worth the hassle though, huh? Haha.

I'm not a fan of Tombac. Not only is a hassle to prepare, it tastes terrible and requires a lot of heat to get going. Of course, I've never liked cigars or cigarettes either which explains my distaste for plain-tobacco products.

How does the taste compare to Zaghloul?

In some ways I found it smoother than Zag. BUt it wasnt something i smoked regularly.

Think about it, you are WASHING the tobacco when you soak the leaves. You are possibly, and i am just kinda thinking out loud here, that you are actually making a washed tobacco. The fact you burn it with direct heat of course would likely negate a lot of that but I should ask Eric what he thinks.
