Mitz
Hi, I came across a company which sells a new electronic hookah pipe which works similar to the new electronic cigarettes on the market. I have tried electronic cigarettes and some of them are great! Has anybody tried this? The one I found was from www.smokeinhouse.com and i also read about one from greensmoke but I can't find their electric hookah pipes on their site anymore. Any info would be great!
Tom1
You would rather pay ~500 usd for an e-cig with a hose attached? Seems like a bad idea.
Mitz
but then if they are a lot healthier and taste very similar then why not? but I just don't know how good they actually are..
Epoch
It's not that they aren't cool, it just seems a preposterous price for a huge E-Cig.
The Jester
its kinda like facebook when you stumble upon sites that sell electric hookah, coals or anything else, press the ignore button someone will tell this for sure for most people, its not only smoking why they smoke hookah its kinda like a ritual: you do the preparations, go through some troubles, and then relax and forget everything (you also wash it afterwards) also, chilling with friends cant be done with something like this it just wouldnt feel right
Because e-hookahs and e-cigs aren't hookahs. I don't smoke hookah simply for easy flavor. That's what candy is for. I smoke hookah to smoke hookah. Anything else, isn't the same. jorlyfish
Takes all the fun and relaxation out of it for me. I like the "slowness" of hookah compared to how easy it is to pull out a cigarette (or e-cig/e-hookah - which, as an aside, I feel are probably the same thing, with the e-hookah just being flavored) and light up - being able to smoke anywhere anytime, while you walk, while you talk on the phone, etc. etc.... Hookah is more of a sit-down-and-unwind activity for me.
They're definitely not a lot healthier, any e-cig (which is what that thing is basically) contains much more than just water vapor, flavor, and nicotine. There's been numerous carcinogens found in their smoke due to the element they use for heat. I'll take my chances with 100% natural coals and tobacco that's flavored with natural substances over something that hasn't even been thoroughly tested. noodle
Just to see, I looked at their e-cigars. There are a bunch of fruit flavors and just one dubbed "tobacco". Uh huh. Right. Yuck. For those who don't already know, one of the big points of cigars is that different cigars taste differently depending on where the tobacco came from and how it's cured. This is equivalent to having a "bread" flavor that only tastes like Rainbo and not like any of the wide variety of more interesting breads.
I knuuuu how you feel.... It was a hard time for me to accept the fact that alot of photographers now don't even know how to develop B&W negatives because digital has taken over. I'm not a professional photographer but had spent some time in the dark room developing and printing the old fashion way. BUT this electric convenience would breed new shisha followers who, hopefully, would defend the existance of tobacco in the market. Unlike digital photo, electric hookah can't replace the traditional way (can't go camping or go to remote area and smoke that elec one haha). mustang67n
I agree with nun. There is a place for the electric hookah and I see it catching on. It will get more people into the culture and therefore add more support to the flavored tobacco industry. I doubt I would ever spend money on smoking or buying an electric hookah. but I see how it could be a positive influence on our culture. Plus, being an engineering geek, i love to see any new technology, even as simple as it may be.. neat to see the ingenuity and different ideas. :-P
