Temsaah Shakil Xl!

Recommended Posts

I just got a Temsaah Shakil XL, and medium Tangiers phunnel for $50 shipped!

It's such a gorgeous pipe, I wasn't expecting it to be so beautiful. I've already broken it in with a medium and small phunnel filled with AF Strawberry :) It's surprising how different it smokes compared to my KM Tri-Metal.

Very very nice sir! How did you get it for $50 and how does it smoke differently?
[/quote]

The xlshakil coupon code had a bug - when I added the phunnel bowl to my order it applied a second time, making my order negative and my total order cost $0, when it should have been around $65-70 after shipping. I called up HC and told them they had a bug in their coupon code system, and they gave me my order for a flat $50 with shipping.

To joytron, I don't believe you can combine coupon codes.

As for smoking differently, it's hard to describe. The included hose contains a small metal mouth piece which is easily removable, and leaves the hose with a very large diameter, and the downstem goes down a ridiculous distance. If I attach my homemade diffuser which is about 2 inches tall, the diffuser almost touches the bottom of the vase. I can fill the vase a good inch or two lower than I'm used to with either my KM Tri Metal or my girlfriend's Pear. Without the diffuser, the draw is extremely smooth and light, but it seemed a tiny bit more temperamental to heat (using the same bowl I smoke out of every day, and the same shisha packed the same way). I think I just need to play with water level a bit to figure out where this Shakil smokes well.

All in all, it's a beautiful and well made pipe. It's a bit harder to clean, due to it's size, but it smokes at least as good as my Tri-Metal, if not better. It's extremely heavy and durable - they aren't joking when they say solid brass. I can't wait to break in my medium phunnel on this Shakil with some nice Tangiers in it.

I used the xlshakil code and I was told I was the first to redeem. Apparently they're trying to clear old stock for new km pipes.

Well I'm pretty sure the KM craze isn't in the make, it's the band people try to escape. KMs and temsahs are both fantastic pipes, I just perfer the solid brass stems.

That's the number one reason why I like it - it just feels so well built and heavy.

is the solid brass stem easy to maintain like a steel? do you have to use anything other then soapy water to clean the the inside?

Nope, clean it just like you would any other pipe. Well cleaned on the inside. However, the brass will tarnish much more easily than the steel, so for people who want to keep their brass stems shiny need to purchase brasso, or something to clean the outter brass with.

Also, most brass hookahs have a copper downstem, so be sure to keep them dry when not in use as to avoid copper tarnishing.

After getting more familiar with my Temsaah, I'd say it has a slightly smoother draw than my KM. It smokes really well. Yes, it does have a copper downstem, after every session I must dump the water out of the vase or there's oxidation.
