snugz13
I just made my first order at hj. I ordered 1 small black tangiers funnel bowl 250g of lucid maraschino cherry 250g nakhla mizo peach 1 KM stem brush This is my first time trying tangiers so I hope i can get it down good. I started out with lucid because i have heard that it is more forgiving for first timers. I have one question, does mizo work well in a small funnel bowl? thanks guys. mitchard
Yeah, Mizo will work fine in a phunnel bowl. Nakhla is one of those tobaccos that smokes great in both an egyptian and a phunnel, though I have been leaning more and more towards using a phunnel for it every time. Also, what coals will you be using?
snugz13
I use coconara cubes that i buy from my local store. do you think i should use 3 halves or 2 wholes with the lucid and 3 wholes or 4 halves with the mizo?

[/quote] I use 3 CCN halves on my small phunnel for Tangiers. I usually smoke Nahkla in my small Egyptian bowl and use two whole CCNs on there, so 3 wholes makes sense for a phunnel. Nak can take plenty of heat -- you'll figure out what works best for you, but your estimates sound right to me.
mitchard
I used two whole CNN on Tangiers in a small. Usually two, sometimes three for Nakhla depending on certain flavors. Everyone does it differently, so mess with it a bit and tweak it to your liking.

Since it's made in San Diego, pretty much anywhere in the same temperate zone almost never has acclimation issues, so when you think you're ready for noir, don't hesitate to go for it. For us out here in Cali it's likely an hour or less and you're good to go. Back East though they seem to have major issues, trying to acclimate 24, 48 even 72 hours, often with little result.
