Mitz
Hi It's been a couple of years since I bought shisha molasses online. I live in the UK and was wondering has something happend where online retailers cannot sell tobacco containing shisha eg Al Fkaher etc or has something else happened? Every website I go on, only has herbal which isn't great. Can anybody fill me in or point me in the right direction? Thanks!
magick777
Yup. Customs & Excise started enforcing a duty of £71 per kg on tobacco-based molasses, and busted a few places for selling illegally imported tobacco or for selling it without the proper tobacco license. Pretty much all the shisha businesses opted to go herbal only rather than pay an expensive licence to be allowed to try to sell stuff people would be unlikely to buy. One can legally import it by arranging that the tax be paid, but I know of no-one who does. Basically you can either import it illegally yourself, or try to find someone who's still got it. Plenty of retailers / shisha cafes still do it, just it's all under the table. What part of London? I'm in south west (Kingston/Putney) and can point you to Nakhla / AF in that area.
Thanks a lot for that, yeah Im in the Croydon kind of area but I do go to Queensway/Edgeware road but they don't really have a lot of variety in flavours that's why I thought online would have been better but i guess not..
Online isn't, they're the big guys who go legal or get caught. It's the smaller places that fly under the radar (we hope). Same problem here with choice, we can probably get 7-10 flavours at a time, not always including the ones I want. We get a reasonable level of choice, just not the ability to reliably restock a particular flavour. Can't moan, though, I wouldn't hold huge stocks of something that might a) be seized and lead to possible prosecution. For that reason, I'm not going to plaster the name or details of the retailer all over the forum, but PM me if you're prepared to travel to this part of town, I can probably give you an idea what they've got first. Will be a pain in the arse from Croydon, unless you drive. Or, if you can get something I can't, there might be mileage in a swap?
Mitz
thanks for that info! It might be worth it I will let you know! at the moment I've found a guy selling starbuzz and posts to you in the UK its a bit pricey though £25 for 250g :s
magick777
Cheaper than most of the Starbuzz on eBay... but yup that's high, 250g of either Nakhla or AF, depending on flavour, is £10 here.
ukhookah
Get them shipped from US, cheaper with a wider choice. I don't like getting ripped off from uk retailers
