A Couple Of Quick Questions

Recommended Posts

So I'm finally gonna upgrade from my cruddy Chinese hookah after a year and a half of smoking (The last 6 months or so of my sessions being few and far between because its falling apart). I'm just waiting on a bit more birthday money to come through.
My order is going to be from John, and will be as follows:
Nour 28 inch brass hookah
V4 Narbish
Small Tangiers Phunnel
48 count of insta-light CH coals (would get nat's but my current situation makes it impossible to effectively light them)

I was just wondering on the the quality of the Nour hookahs, I chose it for aesthetics, the price range that its in, and the few reviews I could find of it here. I wanted to know if anyone would want to vouch for/warn me against them. Also, will the Narbish fit well in its hose port?

Lastly, any other suggestions for my order? I don't need any shisha, seeing as I have a local hookah bar/shop with a selection thats to die for (including a good amount of Tang).

firsly congats on the upgrade.. personally i like the nours good and solid and have heard good things about them.. secondly maybe you could look at the nawras too if i,m correct slightly more expensive but none the less excellent hookahs... also you may want to look at a few KM,s that maybe fit your budget ...i cannot foresee any problems on the narb fitting the port...but you could ask the vendor this question for a more accurate answer... the vendor is hookahjohn so contact him .. he is more than willing to answer any questions or querys and will help you on the way... he also has good service so all in all i dont think you will be disappointed :)
maybe some members here can enlighten you more on the nours and nawras and may own some.. KM need no introduction or hype they speak for themselves ... hope this was of some help... whatever your choice happy smoking :)

Good pipe, good hose, good bowl, good coals. You're lookin good, my friend.

I would however do a little math and see how the prices match on the shisha from your lounge to the site. Although you aren't paying for shipping, a lot of lounges can be severely overpriced when selling products. For instance, an old hookah lounge by my house sold havana shisha for 26 dollars for a 250g tin :shok: Just take a look see, and compare.

Other than that, congratulations and good smoking.

Killer setup, man. I may be hopping on the Nour bus soon myself so I look forward to your review.

My only advice would be to stay away from QL coals if possible. Granted, Johns are the best on the market, IMHO, but I still tend to lean towards nats when it comes to home smoking. The name of the game is more smoking and less lighting sparkly coals if you know what I mean. :)

The fit for the narb in my nour (I have the one at the very bottom of the page) is kind of iffy. The grommet that came with the pipe is a bit too big, but the narb fits well enough if you just use wet paper towel alone.

Thanks for mentioning that. I didn't think to look the last time I went. But I'm making my way over tonight, so I'll check then.

I wish I had a way to light nats, but with the way the dorms I'm living in are, it makes it really hard. As soon as I move into a house this fall, I'll be using nats.

And for everyone else, thanks for your input. I shoot John an email tonight or tomorrow to get my answer. :)

Already got an email back from John (Damn he's quick!). He said the Narb would fit fine.

I'll make my order in a couple of day, and let everyone know how it goes. I don't have much to compare it with, but I might do a review, seeing as there's a relative lack of them on here.

Thanks for the help, everyone!

more coals. Why not get a portable coil burner to light the coals?

I wouldn't have anywhere to plug it in, and I cant light them inside. I've looked into it a few time, and just can't find a way to make it work.

I just put in my order, and I'm pretty excited. It did grow by about $50-$60, as I found more things that i wanted/found out that the lounge didn't have the best price on tobacco. (Not overly expensive though, if you took out tobacco tax, it might even be cheaper.) But here's what I ended up with:

Nour 28 inch Brass Hookah (blue, this one: http://hookahjohn.com/Nour-28-inch-Brass-Hookah-38B-Blue.htm)
NuHose x2 (blue)
V4 Narbish (blue with silver trim)
Small Tangiers Phunnel (royal blue)
Tangiers Sized Wind Cover (silver)

48 piece CH insta-lites
Tang Lucid 250g x2 (peach ice tea, and schnozzberry)

That order is money. And why can't you light them inside? If it's because you're in a dorm, PM me.

Lemme know how that Tang Peach Iced Tea is.

Great order. You'll love the Nour. I have a model thats very similar to that one and its great.

The Narbs will fit this pipe perfectly with the right grommet. Many KM hoses dont fit right since they have thicker hose port ends, but the Narb is narrow enough.

Solid order. Although I must warn you... Once you start smoking Tangiers regularly.... It will take you over. You'll have this sort of manic conquest to try every flavor Eric has created.

Other than that, congrats. Niceee lookin pipe, brass is the new hookah black.

Are these grommets the ones that work with the narb?
