So I'm looking to build my music library and I'm pretty good on rock rap R&B hip-hop pop southern rock gospel classic and jazz but I need some more country. I like all types of country, from old to new, I classify Hank Haggard Skynard ect as southern rock btw ;P So, what kind of country should I add? specific songs or artist names would be good

Keith Urban is pretty badass. I'm not a huge country fan, but his stuff is pretty.palatable. I actually played with him in Atlantic City with a special guest group. Sick guitarist... he doesn't get to show off his talent enough.

Don't forget the ladies of old country, Kitty Wells,Loretta Lynn,Patsy Cline,Emmy Lou Harris etc. Modern country isn't really country anymore its some syrupy form of soft rock .Real country is drinking and cheating songs. And the granddaddy of all country musicians Hank Williams and I mean Senior! If you like country you might try a little bluegrass,my favorite in that genre will always be The Stanley Brothers and Ralph Stanley is still making music and cutting discs.

True. Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood, etc. are really more adult contemporary. There aren't too many artists that stay in the vein of the Old Guard of the original country and western music. You want depressing country, have a listen to Boxcar Willy.
