banned a while back
I've just returned from vacation and realized that I never emptied the water from my hookah... It seems that the water has eroded part of the stem and it has come off. I've had a look locally and online but can't get a replacement stem. Is there anyway I can repair it myself? I've misplaced the broken part of the stem but it is about an inch long. Any help is really appreciated... Mahir
The only thing I can suggest for this is.....to cut about 2 to 3 inches off of this with a copper pipe cutter (something that locks into place and you spin it around till it cuts) then add a coupling and more pipe from Home Depot or Lowes. You can essentially just leave it at the coupling too if you wanted. I am recommending this way to fix this because I am almost positive that down stem cannot be directly replaced without buying a whole new stem. banned a while back
Thanks for your reply So I need some coupling and some pipe... then just join them together? That seems relatively simple which I like
Mahir
Bring the stem with you to fit the couplings...b/c I am sure it's not 3/4" but I am also sure that was just used as an example. Personally....if you could find a longer coupling (if it exists), that may just be your better option. Less chances of leaks and stuff That cutting tool should be in the same area as the fittings too by the way. Something like this : http://www.plumbingsupply.com/images/economy-mini-copper-tubing-cutter-872613.jpg Basically you turn the knob to adjust the cutter and spin it around the tubing
r1v3th3ad
nice remedy I was going to recommend the classic JB Stick from Advanced Auto if you find the missing piece...its a putty weld that held my first hookah(mitsuba) together for almost a year(then I discovered the forums and upgraded to a MZ). JB Stick runs about $
