CKJazz
Hi all, anyone know where I could find a windcover that doesn't have the phararohs and camels on the bottom? I know about the more modern ones that are out there, but I'm not really digging those. Anything that would fit over a small phunnel and look classy with a syrian would be great. Chreees
Only ones that'll fit a phunnel are the XL Egyptian ones. I know you can use tongs or something to make a small windcover taller. Maybe do that or make your own.

Rani
Honestly, half the time my wind covers are hanging off the bowls and works without a hitch. It's still stable because it's hanging all around. Sure it gets hotter than if it was sitting on the tray, but haven't had one chip, or bend or get so hot the handle was untouchable so far. In a related side story, I left a pipe set up about a foot from the bed the other night with the wind cover per usual perched on by the bowl. The coals were long out. I'd just been too lazy to break it down. So 4:00 a.m. and I'm sound asleep, two cats snoring in bed with me, and I had half bad dream, half dog barking outside my window, and I shot out of bed. Didn't realize how close to the edge I was and fell in the floor bruising the hell out of the knee and elbow I landed on. During the leap/tumble, my foot hits top of wind cover, bowl, hose, and wind cover all bounce off clattering in different directions, cats scatter scared to death by the noise, and I feel like an idiot. Next morning trying to track down the pieces and damned..... Nothing broke and my favorite KM was undamaged just standing there while I searched for all it's accessories. So maybe having the wind cover hanging lightly on th bowl isn't such a bad thing. Especially if you're going to knock the damned thing over at four in the morning.
