Stuie
Someone asked me why my reviews for Epic were all over the map. My first reaction was that's what I must of thought at the time. Started looking at old posts and reviews and I have drawn a few conclusion some of you might find interesting. I wouldn't say this is a great shisha, but it's not the worst I have had either. Epic went from experimentation to production in about a years time, guessing on the estimate based on posts. This is where I think their problem lies. Speed from Idea to production was too short. I make this conclusion based on Eric saying he did testing and research for over 5 years before he attempted to bring it to market. It's also a really slimy shisha, that's just a minor issue at this point. Now because of this i think an important step was missed. According to the ingredients there are no types of preservatives listed. Based on my experience I think this is there biggest problem. First ordered some when it first hit the market, and it was decent. Then a while ago I ordered another jar, just to try it again, and it was not very good. I was then contacted by Epic to review some more and he sent me 3 flavors. They were fresh and the taste was good. I liked them. It seems without the preservatives added to this shisha the 2 year shelf life does not apply it's much shorter. I am not saying it's a great tobacco, but bought shortly after production it's decent. Personally I wouldn't recommend it buying it online, Most online vendors have dumped it, TexasHookah.com is the only I have found that has it. Epic's site is now down, not sure if this is a sign but, there it is. So for the person that asked, and all that wondered. There it is.
Amn_sinclair
Stuie I really think that there needs to be a hookah magazine that needs to hire you to do reviews on shisha and other various hookah products. That's just my opinion but im sure im not the only one who thinks so

ryno
I've tried a few of their flavors that I bought locally, and the flavor seemed ok, but just didn't seem to last throughout the session.
The guy who makes Epic Smoke shisha makes it here in my town. I personally think its terrible. I went to his shop to check out the flavors and coals because they were the first in town to carry CCN. There are A LOT of flavors and a lot of them smell fantastic, but they taste all the same, in my opinion. They have a weird taste, the candy PEZ is the closest comparison can think of, they all have this same powdery, sweet taste. Its pretty hard to describe but very noticeable. As far as the slimy goes, he uses a TON of honey in his recipe. Like a ridiculous amount, their shisha is literally DRENCHED. I packed a bowl in an Egyptian hookah and before I could put the foil on the bowl, juices were seeping out of the bottom and made a mess. It didn't stop until it all came out, which was a lot and it make my grommet slippery so I had to get a new one. Its a hassle to smoke. The only flavor I actually enjoyed was Sour Green Apple, which tasted similar to AF's Esk Apple. But honestly, I bought a bunch of 50g for samples and I was gonna review them, but after smoking them I felt it wasn't worth my time. Oh another thing, this was only a few months ago. mushrat
Actually its Honey and Glycerin that are the natural preservatives. I will reserve comment on the product as I tasted it through the testing/tweeking stage.
Stuie
That's true Mush about honey and glycerin, but i know that shisha's do add a food grade preservative too them from my understanding. Eric does I am sure.
mushrat
Most of my stuff doent live long enough to need preserving.
cotsi95
I had some about two years ago..Cherry pie if memory serves me correct. He sent it to me to try and get us to carry it in the lounge. Tasted like CARDBOARD. No not the bland no flavor typical reference to cardboard but LITERALLY like cardboard boxes shredded and smoked. Never had it again and threw the rest of the sample away, when I told him what I thought he basically said screw you other people like it and that was that. thehelios
I tried 3 different flavors of the stuff before and they tasted stale and like costi said, like cardboard. My noob smoking friends thought it was fantastic and I gave up after 3 puffs. Stuff is terrible.
ekomscipe
I personally tried it from his store about two-three months ago, I liked it. I have now tried most of the flavors and some I don't like. He was pretty upfront, wouldn't sell me a "funky monkey", telling me it was a horrible flavor. I loved the pink lemonade, he had a cantaloupe as a flavor of the month, I loved it i don't get a soapy flavor. I don't know, maybe I am doing something wrong, but it somewhat of my favorite. I don't profess to know much about hookah, actually I think I know very little, but I still like it I have tried and don't like tangiers (sorry if I am going to offend, I just don't love it), AF(it's alright), starbuzz--ehhh, not worth the money, some other brand I don't remember anymore, maybe cleopatra or something like that. i still smoke epic all the time, i like his shop and tobacco [i][u][b](Admin's Note: This person works for Epic Smoke.
