Regal
I have a similar Temsah pipe and I was wondering about other people's experiences with them. So far mine has smoked well but the issue was more along the connections between the metal pieces on the stem. Under rigorous use mine has not only broken but started leaning to a side and it's been practically impossible to use. I was very disappointed and I don't know whether I'll buy another. Any comments? NUBBS
Temsah's are hit and miss. The old ones were like test runs and the newer ones have a lot of the corrections. I like the look of most of em. I'm gonna buy one after taxes.
kmccoy90
I just bought a Temsaah XL Horus (I have a thread floating around here). I have no complaints. Are your problems solely with the stem? Because my base has a little lump from the blowing pipe when it was made, which leaves it slightly uneven. If you elaborate on your problems a little more I could probably help you out. NUBBS
Come to find out I do have one. It's the one I use in my travel bag, haha just looked today. It's small, but solid brass. It smokes like a dream and I'm pretty sure I could beat the hell outta someone with it. Or if I can't find a hammer... you get it. Anyway, from the little setup I have, I like it. But as far as the big boys go, I'm stickin to my previos post.
Jabbles180
Personally I have two temsaah pipes. The dahab alaim and a double ring. I like these all brass temsaah stems over my kms. They feel like how kms used to be years ago before, I feel, their build quality took a crap. I would recommend the solid brass shanks to anybody.
I agree with KM's quality goin down hill. But they remind me of the nice Syrian shanks that everyone raves about. Well I just bought one of these bad boys, and am yet to use it yet. Anyway, this thing is sturdy as hell and weighs like 3.5 lbs. I am really impressed with the quality of this shank that's from a somewhat new company. Jabbles180
You won't be let down man. I just added a temsaah shakil to make a trifecta of tz's. I can't get enough of these bad boys. Built solid, smoke like a chimney. I am hoping for new solid brass shanks to come out as all I need is the xl and I have every one of these solids from temsaah I want ATM. Seriously these things have taken over my km's so much I just offloaded 3 km's to get these other temsaahs and the elmas I'm waiting for.
Coyote
I got this Temsah: http://www.dirtcheaphookahs.com/red-2-hose-temsah-medium-21-inch-egyptian-hookah-p-524.html It feels kinda cheap to me. The base has and imperfection in the paint, the stem feels like and weak, and I don't like the bowl. Maybe because I'm used to the big heavy ones at the lounge, or the one I used to have was just such superiour quality (which I don't even know the brand dangit!). There is also the possibility that I'm just a pouty little princess... Either way, I'm going to find something different next time.

You think I can just get a better stem and bowl? Or should I try to get a better one? I definitely prefer one with two hoses...
rahl071
If you're a multi-hose person, you may want to give mya a look. otherwise, Hookahjohn.com and Hookah-shisha.com both have some multi-hose KM's.
I could be wrong, and theres a strong chance that I am as I've missed alot about hookah culture in the last year or so HOWEVER... that looks like an MZ ,horus I think it was called. I got the exact same vase with my MZ nefertiti and those hoses are MZ hoses with a tag slapped on them. I remember hearing that MZ was going out of business possibly a rumor, but that pipe looks to me like a rebranded MZ,
TheyCallMeDave
A couple things about temsahs... 1. Temsah is known for their solid brass stems. That's about it. There was talk about the quality difference between their brass stems compared to their trimetals, stainless steels, etc. 2. Imperfections in welding, glass blowing, etc. I believe that it was hookahcompany.com that says "If you are looking for perfection in a hookah, these pipes are NOT for you." I prefer the imperfections, it adds character. That's just an opinion. They aren't going to be perfect, especiall ythe brass ones. But they're heavy, they're well-crafted, and in my opinion, beautiful. These hookahs are for the earthy, down to earth old school kind of smokers, IMO. I love mine. I wouldn't be suprised if one day they have a model without a purge valve. Everyone asks if I bought mine used from the welding and brass tarnishing They smoke like a dream, but won't be built perfectly. If that's what you like, good. Enjoy. If not, I would think about investing in a Mya. I'm glad I found my Temsah. It's a heavy, traditional brass pipe that smokes like it should. Kind of keeps me appeased and at calm whenever I see a skull or EH hookah around campus....
mushrat
There is a difference between "perfection" and well built. But a product should still be functional. a broken weld is not "hand made or imperfect" it is poorly made and junk. If the pipe does not work then it should not be sold. nathanmweiss
I'm very happy with my Temsah Shakil, got a great deal on it over the holidays (thanks to joytron's help ), Hookahcompany sent it to me with a brush that fits it perfectly so I've been able to clean it easily. Hookah-burgar
Solid brass Temsaah's are, in my opinion, the best hookahs on the market. They are quite similar to KM's in most aspects like wider gauge than most other pipes, similar upper part, same vases, similar purge valves, but have some superior features: Finishings are usually better (better welds (mark that You might get the odd one with some bad welds or other defects, something that might as well happen with KM), the hose ports are wider and fit every hose (not the case with KM), the range of solid brass pipes is wider, they usually have copper downstems... I own two Temsaahs, a beautiful Shakil and a dahab Alaïm, and tey are great and superior to my KM, and for smoking, to my two Elmas, or any of my 12 other hookahs. mushrat
still. none of this addresses the poor quality of the OP's hookah.
