Ease of Lighting - Starlight coals light fully in about 5 minutes, Chron. Hookah Coals take about 7 or 8 minutes to light.



Smell - No smell from the Starlights. Chron. Hookah Coals have a slight burning smell to them.

Taste - No taste from either coal

Smoke - Thick smoke

Ash - Both ash very little compared to circular quick lights or Japanese silver coals. The Starlight ash seems to cling to the coal better.





Conclusion - The Starlights run about $7 for 70 pieces. This works out to $0.10 per coal. The Chron. Hookah coals run $14 for 132 pieces, working out to $0.106 per coal. The Starlights light faster, ash a little bit less, and the ash clings better to the coal. The Chron. Hookah coals are a little bit larger, and last a little bit longer. Both are great alternatives to the overprices CocoNara brand.
